I've had the game since it was released, played it to get a feel of it,  but I now have the free time to devote the time needed to play it and enjoy it. That out of the way, I'd like to get some critiques on my dual-wield warrior build.

When the game was released, I went ahead and bought the strategy guide since I've found that those usually help me out in games where it's important to understand how to build a character in advance. (I ignore spoilers and focus on item charts, tips, places to leave notes, etc)  Here is my final 20th level build stats for a dual wielding warrior:

Str-34 (17 pts)
Dex-36 (19 pts)
Con-22 (9 pts)
Will-20 (8 pts +2  for Champ)
Cun-16 (4 pts +1 for Champ)

Hopefully I've calculated all of this correctly. I'm not really looking for a "pure performance" build, given my role, as I'm taking the Champ specialization. Also, I wanted to max out my Coercion skill for RP purposes.  Obviously I'll be taking all the Dual Wield talents and in the Warriors school: Powerful, Bravery, Death Blow,  Disengage and Perfect Striking. Obviously I'll max out Combat Training as well.

Just curious if there is anything glaringly wrong with this build or if I might miss out on something somewhere down the line that I'm not aware of. Thanks in advance.

Personally I wlould up Str or Dex and rop one of those two....

Like your trying to be good at two things and actually not being good at either if you follow me.

Other than that....seems fine to me....have a similar character myself much like it :)

Yeah, I've thought of upping Dex, since I'll be using Alistair as the main tank. I chose to put my limit in Dex at the point where I could get all the talents. What would you suggest boosting Dex to?

Hmmmm....

well...you go could go 48Str/26Dex/15Will/16Cun/20Con and forgo the last 3 duel wep feats (and 2 are only abilities anyway...not like they really needed....

Or drop str to 25 (though thats going to seriously affect what you wear) and up dex to 49 (based on above stats being same)...or even lower con and up dex....with the increase in defense....not like your going to get hit often anyway lol...

Dont get me wrong...your build fine...will cope perfectly well...I just like optimising things....rather than being a jack of all trades so-to-speak....I eman even with your original stats, heavy plate out as you dont have enough str....so lose it alltogetehr and have a high dex?

Look through the projects section...there a grwat character builder utility, handy to play with :)

I love my dual-wield warrior. She has about a 95% hit rate using bloodline and another axe. Take dexterity to 36 (of course you get bonuses with the right gear) and maximize strength to the 50's. Other gear (Spellward -willpower) and ring of lifegiver( gives you consititution). I am using the diligence set (of course the premiere Dragon scale armour is ideal) because when I run out of willpower I switch to momentum and double strike which mows down the bad guys. I like to maximize strength because this is a power damage build (so health, willpower, dexterity defense) is not as important as damage per hit and hit rate. Forget massive armor, this build's motto is the best defense is a great offense.

i. Did you factor in Fade Bonuses?

ii. I dun quite understand the "4pts + 1 for Champ" for cun. Stat requirements for skills (max coercion) is dependent on hard points. Stat bonuses from specs are equivalent to bonuses from items are not considered. But just fyi, a HN has a +1 cun racial bonus and Fade adds 5 cun.

I would max dexterity to 36, just to get the final dual wielding skill and then focus on strength.  Pretty much echoing this kind of thing:

I don't have the right gear yet 'cause I'm not levelled enough but I'm going for the Dragon scale armour asap

More str is all I would say. Don't forget you get the permanent stat boosts from the circle so at most you'll need to put 1 point into cunning to use all the coercion skills.

Also forget constitution. At least you don't need it at 22. 20 MAX. Honestly I'd just leave it base. You have high enough dex (plus you'll get some off of gear) that your defense will be high. There's a good discussion about the issue on the Dragon Age wiki but dex gives you longer survivability than constitution anyway.

I can understand not going for pure performance; I like characters that can do/use/wear everything without taking into effect items (which don't help for abilities anyway). So (bearing in mind the comments about the stat boosts from the circle) for a dual-wielding warrior I'd want Dex 36, cunning 16 and strength 42 at least. Any excess points I could see putting into strength or dexterity or both, but don't really see the point in putting any points at all into the other abilities other than for roleplaying reasons.

I ditto other posters. You are not tanking so the power build is dex 36, cun 16, everything else in str and armor that doesn't fatigue. Warden Commander's is the best but if you don't have the DLC then dragonskin or dragonscale + Evon's.

dex to 36 then all strength with cunning for coercion if you need it. you wont need willpower if you are using wardens commander gear or dragonbone plate and with either of them and a properly set up tank you shouldnt need any in constitution

I personally like to add some to constitution, nothing wrong with some added hp's, I add some in here and there once my strenght gets into the 40's, but that's just me.
