I didn't like Thane from the beginning, but I started to like him after playing the game and I find the Shepard and Thane scene to be the most romantic - I see it as being about living, not dying, and being about hope.

I thought Garrus's romance was sweet and rather touching, watching a badass vigilante turn into a fumbling teenager when confronted with the idea of hooking up with Shepard. Yet they had a real connection, already being good friends.

Jacob? Jacob just gives me the heebie-jeebies. Somethin' wrong with that man.

Plenty of women liked Garrus and Thane. Garrus himself is probably a romance option because a bunch of female fans wanted it.

I actually didn't find jack to be unattractive for any of those reasons. What really drove me away from her was her clothes, which are horribly ugly. Also Tali won't die due to the magic of plot.

It's the outfit itself that turns me off, it
looks like some kind of weird fetish gear, not something I'd want
someone I could potentially be interested in casually wearing.

I actually forgot about her chest-harness! But I think it's fair to assume no one actually likes it.

Thanks for all the comments and feedback fellow forumites. I tried to express a point, and it is based on my personal opinion of course. I meant no offense to those liking things as they are.

Heh .. I reckon it would have suited Jack more to just be topless.

But I guess that's a no go for a mainstream game.

It's perfectly possible for her to show off her tattoos without wearing that horrible harness, or being nude. Jack's biker outfit is awesome and still manages to show that she's inked.

I think Jack's alternate outfit really suits her. On my 3rd playthrough, I'm going to romance her. And she has to wear that on all our dates. :)

. And the wonderful thing is it doesn't need the fanservice-y sex appeal that the MShep romances do. I'm happy with the emotional appeal, kthx.

Is this a knock on the love interests for male shepards, or men in general? Or both? :l

I love Jack's new outfit. I even leave it on her on the Normandy even though she doesn't need sunglasses inside.

I do like the belt-bra thing b/c it does give you a chance to have a good look at most of her ink without her being topless.  Nonetheless, I prefer the vest or biker outfit.

Bioware. You have more female players than I think you realize. We are typically less vocal in the community.. Well. aside from players like me.

I have to strongly disagree with this.:innocent:

I actuall liked Garrus' romance very much. I thought it was sweet. Jacob was the only one I felt llet down on (creepy much?); OK, we had fewer 'sexy' options than the male players may have (let's face it, Jack and Miri are HOT, and while Jacob has cheese-grating abs, neither Gar not Thane's scenes are as... aesthetically pertinant as the female LI scenes were...), this made me feel more like it was the relationship that mattered than the sex. But that's me.

I see where some other female players are coming from, though. No, I did not feel undervalued as a part of the ME fanbase in this sense, but the negation of FemShep from Bioware's general marketing of the game irks me somewhat. I find Jeniffer Hale's Shep much more emotive than Sheploo, and so prefer ALL of her roimances to his (saving maybe Jacob. On account of, y'know, creepy.) But I can see why the OP might disagree.

This is why I support sexual realtions with ALL POSSIBLE SQUADMATES IN ME3! Variety is the spice of life. ;)

I do wish FemShep could have romanced Jack or Tali though - they both seemed like conversation paths which could have headed in that direction.

Indeed, which is why we should have characters with different sexual orientations instead of bisexuality accross the board.

Um, yeah. Sort of like all the queer players are quiet and demure.

Seconded.  Well since ZennExile fell off the face of the Earth anyway.

I'd love to start a thread asking how many female ME2 players are on here, but the only such thread I managed to find on the board was first ridiculed and then closed as not being game-related. I feel it definitely relates, in a direct way, to how ME3 is being designed.

Hey OP, I'm going to slightly disagree with you. I don't think the ME2 romances were written for male gamers in mind at all. In fact, several times it has been stated specifically that Thane was designed for female gamers in mind.

Unfortunately, if you didn't like Kaidan (or didn't like what they did to him on Horizon), weren't into malien love, or f/f romances and found (like everyone else) Jacob too creepy then I can see why you would think female gamers are getting the short end of the stick. However, I did just name a bunch of options that female players have.

I do think that this sudden shying away from nudity esp with the FemShep romances is a bit telling of what they think female gamers want. We see much more action with Tali. Jack and Miranda, but pretty much nothing with Garrus and Thane. I can sort of understand why they fade out quickly with Garrus, but Thane's scene was no excuse to get all prudish. Seriously.

Kaidan and Liara had the best love scenes, imo.

Depends how you see it. They are more male voices talking about the games than there are female. Without factoring in that there are more male players than female though, who knows.

Yes, but who is the loudest?  Perhaps more male voices, but......
