That said though, a series of recent events has quite frankly ticked me off. With the legal acqusition of some MS points I purchased BattleField 1943. I heard it was all the rage. And at first I loved it (and still do); haveing been a player of the original Battlefield 1942, it brought me back to my hay-day of killing Axis soilders.
But if you currently own the game you now know what I am about to say, for the past few months (some less then others) the game is entirely unplayable due to lag from EA's servers. I along with many other people have done the "run of the mill" check your router etc, but it remains a fact that the problem is on EA's side of the fence.
For a game that is strictly multiplayer only, you damn well better have excellent online support so it is playable. As of today that has been lacking for 1943. I would'nt have a problem if EA came out to say, "Hey there is a problem somewhere on our side, we are currently working and trying to fix the issue."
But EA still has yet to admit any such problem, infact they are completely ignoreing the issue. And that is what bugs me. If your going to spend the money to purchase a product it better work, and one should'nt be plauged by technical issues the company is entirely responsible for.
Imagine if Bungie's Matchmakeing did'nt work and they did nothing to fix it or even Bioware's Cerberus Network. Yet they take the money spent on the product and leave. And that is exactly what EA is doing.
EA is screwing over the player, "we have your money and that is all we care about. so screw you!"
