ofc they are, its bussines. No one in their right mind would work 8-12hours /day for free, atleast not to strangers anyways. To Bioware its just another "job" like construction worker, fireman, cook etc...
and about the moaning of DLC prizes: If you pay someone to build you a house, you cant except the same guy to come back 3months later and build you a storage/anything else on the backyard for free
Bioware all about making money

*wonders how much Sheen's VA contract was*
I don't think it's as high as people think it is.
I hear him slumming for Midas (brakes, tires, etc.) on the radio.
He's a long way removed from being the President.

Stanley Woo said point blank that they will heed the cries of people who say "I wanna buy everything" over anyone else's complaint.
So they can release a turd, and even if a ton of people complain, they will be ignored in favor of those who say "I will buy everything"
It's a new era. You can argue that all businesses are in it for money. That's fine, but in the earlier days of gaming, companies strived to strike a balance between pleasing fans and making profits.
Heck, a small studio like Ossian released hundreds of hours of their hard work for free (the Daggerford mod) in order for the fans to enjoy. Yet a financial behemoth like EA will nickel and dime for every scrap of money they can get from micro DLC's.
My favorite math teacher jumped off tables, laid down on the floor, shared home-cooked meals in class etc, all in the name of making math fun to learn. He could have said, "it's just a job. another day another dollar" but he didn't.

Look at the world in disbelief
You used to follow - now you lead
College has enlightened you
And you are proud to be different
And like different bands - different types
You ain't nobody's fool
It's like certain bands remind you of someone you hated
'Cause they didn't wear the right clothing
And there's only one true fashion
Alot of the bands on the college charts are great bands
until they get signed. Then you hate them
It's such bulls-t - you used to love them you hypocrite
I remember you and I listening to bands that we liked
Only the songs mattered to you
But now you're a D.J. and preaching that hype
"Corporate Rock Sucks"
"You know, college radio enlightens you"
It's supposed to serve as a means to expose new bands
without prejudice, but it makes no sense
Safe harbor for the underground
'Til the alternative becomes the popular sound
The bands are good 'til they make enough cash
to eat food and get a pad
Then they're sold out and their music is cliche,
Because talent's exclusive to bands without pay
Know it all - Did you really listen to that song?
Could you ever write what you call wrong?

I dont care about if Bioware gives two more free dlc than Activision. I care about the fact that most of the games are now release uncomplete, just to keep getting money. It very annoying that after the release, 1 month later it cames out new content (yeah right, you ve just create). Yes, I know the goal of all companies is to get money, but a few years ago, it was also to keep the costumers happy by giving full games, and free addons if they were released. Like we say on my country, good, nice and cheap, this is what a good product must have.

You know something, Obsidian right now is more Bioware than Bioware !
When you look at the bioware that made the baldur's gate series, you will see that Obsidian today is closer to them in terms of size of the company and the personnel. (Obsidian has a much closer link to Black Isle which published the BG series).
Furthermore, under EA, bioware's company culture today is also vastly different from what it was back then.
Alright, that's fine. It's a new company, but I bet they will still use the bioware name because it is a brand and they have financial intere$$t in keeping the name.

wow seems i have opened a real can of worms , i guess what i was getting at, which some people have alreadly pointed out is, its the illustion we are getting something for free , when you buy the product,, that is included in the price, if not the collectors pack i got would be the some price as the standard ,and later addons code based were in the orginal game just hidden of course.,wouldnt be hidden
ITs a fine line between what people think is acceptable and the modern world yuo see i am an older gamer and i too remember companys released a lot of free content now i wonder if when i pay 100 bucks for a game (nz) i will need to fork out another 50 to fully enjoy it over the next 12 months i guess paying for decent addons is ok, but for a weapon or box of gifts thats getting a bit lame, and yes i know no one is forcing me to buy them THATS NOT THE POINT the point is the sad way the corperation is forcing every cent off the game it can because this is now becoming the norm,
I know making a big profit in the us is number one but in my country , a good customer relation is number one and i am feeling the current trend of dip feeding ALL content for a price is kinda milking the hell out of the current fanbase Believe me the huge rise in the number of people playing games even in the recession is keeping the industry in a better state then most, I know a lot of people cant see past the company = profit side of the coin turn it over on see the goodwill = good sales and happy fans side ,if this is the future of gaming its going to be a expensive one for everyone..

What people forget is that BioWare have different teams working on DLC, so that the gamers are always getting new great game content. WhilstI can understand the OP being peeved about that the money, thats only natural when your a bit on the skint side. You have to understand that they are a business....albeit a business that is looking after its customers by providing for them.
There are not many devs out there who have the skill or writing ability to keep there games alive by adding extra story to there games. BioWarehave these skills, and I belive they deserve to reap the benefits for these skills,
