If you had the choice (and I'm not suggesting you will or should before any flaming starts) of picking your eight man/woman squad for Mass Effect 3, who would you select and why?

My Eight Man/Woman Squad would be:

1. Miranda (ME2-LI) - I want both LI's in the same squad for the drama it will bring but more importantly Miranda is first name down as in my opinion she is simply the best squadmate all things considered on missions. Not only is her biotic and combat abilityimpressive, she is by far the most able and qualified person in ME to lead a second team, or act as your deputy. Coupled with the above, I believe her character still has along way to go and she still holds a certain mystery with questions to be answered. Who is her father, what is her next step post ME? On a personal level Miranda continues to struggle  with her "father bought" abilities, and I can see these issues continuing. A great squadmate and an excellent character

2. Tali Zora - Shephards "Little Sister" (speaking of my own save now) and in my opinion the most loyal squadmate of the Mass Effect series to date. Would Mass Effect be the same without her, definitely not. Tali is a  trusted ally of Shephard and her knowledge of the Normandy second to none so she has to be right at the top of the list. The Quarian race still has allot of unresolved issue and I feel that destiny dictates that Tali will play a major part in their future. As we all know where Tali goes Shephard is not far behind so I could never see her not answering Shephards call.

3. Garrus - This guy has gone from being one of my least favourite characters to one of my favourites, to the "I'm just not sure" department. On appearances he is Shephards right hand man, his "Brother from s different Mother" if you like, but as I've mentioned in previous posts, their are times I would question his long term motives and loyalty towards Shephard (again this is just my own perception of him and I fully expect he will be loyal to the end). However, irrespctive of all that it just wouldn't be the same without him their, and he'd be a definite inclusion into my squad

4. Ashley (LI - ME1) - Again I'm sure their will be fireworks between herself and Miranda given their personalities, and that can only add to the story but that is not the main reason. As a squadmate in ME1 Ash was a constant. I generally like having a squadmate who is simply a soldier, combat is their speciality nothing else. Their are many missions where ya just want the best fighters beside you and Ash ticks this box. Character and personality wise I always like Ash. Her religious beleifs and love of poetry were surprising traits for a character with her "hot hed" on the field and I think theirs yet more to her character to be reveaked. In terms of her part in ME2 this is something that has completely puzzled me and I can tell you it puzzled my Shephard too. She has to return to explain herself

5. Mordin - His scientific knowledge and prowess are unrivalled, and for that reason alone he deserves his spot, but is personality and motor mouth way of speaking put him down as a definite for any of my squads

6. Liara Tasoni - Originally one of my favourite characters she fast turned into a character that just plain annoyed me. So why her inclusion| Put simply the change in her character from ME1 to ME2 simply has to be explained. Her character has arguably gone through more then any other in the ME series and I for one am eager to see all that play out. My second reason is more of a personal one, it just wouldnt be the same wthout an Asari biotiic on the team and given the choice between Liara and Samara, I gotta go with Liara

7. Grunt - Much like wanting an Asari on the team the same has to said of a Krogan. As a squadmate I found Grunt excellent in Combat and his agression on the battlefield is something the other characters do not have. Character wise I feel this young Krogan has only begun his journey and I will be interested to see how it progress's

8. Aria - My wildcard pic if you like. In battle she must be able to hold her own given her currnet postion on Illium so its definitely not impossible for her to be eligable as a squad mate. As a character I feel she would add a renegade touch to the squad and definitely keep Shephard on his toes. Due to her refusal to discuss her own personal history and her knowledge of Shephards exploits, is it impossible for her to turn out to be Liara's father| - Not impossible in my opinion

Thoughts ?
