Hey I've got a really annoying problem with the HUD

Ever since Eden Prime, I have been unable to click on anything in the tactic HUD.  When I move my mouse over the icons, they highlight, but when I click, nothing happens.  It started when the message about "right-click to looks around" came up.  Funnily enough I can't right click and look around either.

This is really annoying me, so can people please help?

If you were running ME-2, the real question would be "how terrible is the video device you are trying to use?"  I'm not certain it's the same in this one.

Sorry just to clarify:



PC version

Intel Quad Core i7 720QM at 1.7ghz

ATI Mobility Radeon 5870 1 GB with ATI Catalyst 10.3

ATI HDMI Audio driver 7.11.0.7700

Windows 7 PRO 64 bit

Direct x10 (can use x11 in newer games)



The Tactic HUD is messing up, it started on Eden Prime giving the message "right-click to look around" when I pressed spacebar, but then the icons only highlighted when the mouse went over them, but when I clicked, nothing happened. I've finished Eden Prime, the message is gone, but I still can't select anything in the HUD



Anyone else have this problem?

I think this is a focus problem related to the graphics driver, but I've not had it personally -- not exactly the same anyway. At one point I had an issue where the inventory would bring up the windows mouse cursor and I couldn't interact with the game until I pressed another key, but this did go away with a driver update.

ME2 is excellent so I decided to buy ME1 to see what I missed. What a nightmare the game is. The squad AI is pretty poor to say the least and the HUD freezes nearly all the time. When the HUD occasionally does work and a command is selected nothing happens.

I'm using a standard PS2 keyboard and USB mouse and have had the problems on core 2 duo PC with Vista + HD4850 or HD5770 and now the same PC with Win 7 64 also tried with HD4850 & the 5770

Been having the exact same problem as you in Mass Effect 1, pmpst1ck. In my case it came on unexpectedly; I was going through the game normally, hadn't made any changes in anything.

I'm running the PC version on a 64-bit Win 7 Premium, ASUS N71VN-A1 (too lazy to write out specs). All my drivers are the most updated version.

Did anyone ever find out just what is making this happen?
