I'm going with Valve on this one.
Hey! You were specifically told to forget about this thread and go about your day... sheesh...
I guess Valve fans just can't follow simple instructions...

They can afford doing stuff for anniversaries, given that they're so slow that they don't have that many anniversaries to mark to begin with :innocent:

Who did then?
A group of students from DigiPen Institute of Technology, who had made a freeware games called Narbacular Drop (the same game, conceptually).
Valve picked them up and put their tiny demo-game into their Orange Box value pack as a test, and struck gold.

Portal is Valve's spiritual successor to the freeware game Narbacular Drop, the 2005 independent game released by students of the DigiPen Institute of Technology; the original Narbacular Drop team is now employed at Valve. Certain elements have been retained from Narbacular Drop, such as the system of identifying the two unique portal endpoints with the colors orange and blue. A key difference in the signature portal mechanic between the two games however is that Portal's "portal gun" cannot create a portal through an existing portal unlike in Narbacular Drop. Portal took approximately two years and four months to complete after the DigiPen team was brought into Valve, and no more than ten people were involved with its development.
They worked for valve during Portals development so it is a roduct of Valve Corp.

They haven't innovated or developed anything meaningful in years. Thier game engine is so out of date and obsolete it isn't even funny. I know they are popular, but L4D is a buggy, ugly, unbalanced mess of a game that doesn't deserve half the credit it gets, and TF 2 isn't doing anything that 20 other games do just as well or better.
I'd vote for Bioware no matter who they were up against, but this is a no brainer for me. But sadly Valve will probably continue earning wins for things they don't deserve just because of the mindless masses.

Right, so they're mindless because they don't share your opinion?

That's not what I meant at all. Just that there is no redeeming quality other than repetitive violence in most of Valve's recent games, like L4D 1-2, TF2, and frankly it's a pretty mindless twitch game. That's a lot of the fanbase of those games, and I own all 3 of those games, I've played them and based on most of the hundreds of players I played against and with, "Me do good?" is pretty well spoken for many of them, and god forbid one should want to employ a strategy or any type of skill against them. They will then anger quickly and threaten to kill you or do sexual things to your wife or mother.
And frankly that group has the numbers. I think L4D 1 alone sold about as many copies as Dragon Age and Mass Effect 1 combined. So that's the basis for my comment. It has nothing to do with them agreeing with me or not.

As much as I like BioWare games, I've had much more experience with Valve.

EDIT: I checked, and Ubisoft Montreal does have large forums. This is going to be a tough match.
