I have to say that Bioware games have definitely made an impact for me, got me totally away from MMOs...which I had been playing for years... And I still have a community I can access through these forums, so its all good.

I spend about 270 hours playing Guild Wars and about 5 hours playing Portal.
Portal was better.

The Source engine is modular and constantly being updated with newer game releases. Valve uses their hardware survey to determine what features to implement or not implement.

The Source engine has the best facial animation I have seen so far. Just check out the "Meet The..." videos. Meet The Spy is the newest.

You myst have not played Yakuza 3.

Oh, by the way, expressiveness with exaggerated, cartoonish graphics (that I find horrible, but to each his own i guess) is much, much easier to achieve than with realistic graphics.
