Yes please! This or KotOR, either would be epic!

I say star wars in general, kotor and the movies for more characters.

I think KotOR and the movies together would have too many characters to choose from, there would be a lot of good characters that would have to be left out. I say either the original trilogy or KotOR, not both.

Yeah... Much as I want there to be a combination of them, there would be too many great characters left out, and I'd really like Aayla Secura to be in it. (Not that anyone really knows who she is anyway. ._.)

Argh, double post!
Well then...

Well they could be split into rounds, say a certain amount of randomly chosen characters in the first round, then the winner of that round will wait until the final round, and repeat until the winners of each round battle in the final round, just a suggestion, you guys do what you want.

You guys don't know how much I've wanted to include a Star Wars HoH after the first HoH(that was the Dragon Age HoH, the one that I started) was finished. MerinTB and a couple other members saw a problem with that. So did I as a matter of fact. Just look:

G Canon

T Canon

C Canon

If you're a Star Wars fan like me, you'd probably know how crammed a Star Wars in general HoH would be which is pretty much what scares me. I don't think I'll do one that includes all levels of canon. I think I'll only do one pertaining to the movies(which is G Canon, for the record). I want to do a WHOLE Star Wars Hurt or Heal featuring both levels of canon someday but I have a feeling that that day will not be so soon. That's why on the last poll, the only Star Wars HoH was Star Wars(Original Trilogy) and Star Wars KOTOR. That doesn't mean that as time passes by, I'll experiment with how many characters we can have on an HoH Elimination Game, but it just won't be happen...yet.

Until then, the poll will feature both KOTOR and the Original Trilogy like the last one.

Could try a Dragon Age:Origins Awakening Hurt or Heal. I'd probably put my vote behind a KOTOR1&2 Hurt or Heal. Or find a list of, like, the thirty best video games of all time to Hurt or Heal. No scratch that, I'd just get irate when I notice Zork has not been included. Thirty Different Varieties of Pigeons Hurt or Heal. Yeah.

Yes please do please do my videogame heroes allstar HoH! :D That way everyone should be happy because if you take the 30 most popular videogame characters in history everyone will have at least some characters they know and like.

My vote would not be for "across video games" as I know the games I like would get the short end of the stick (i.e. not be included) in favor of games I've never played and have no intention of ever playing.

Like Metal Gear Solid. Like Zelda. Like Metroid. Hell, like <insert obligatory console game best seller here.>

But I'm just one vote. Majority will rule.

That's no good reason in my opinion for not doing a allstar videogame character HoH. That would be the same as saying:

"We shouldn't do a ME2 HoH because my favorite character is The Biotic God and he will get the short end of the stick (i.e. not be included) in favor of character I've never liked and have no intention of ever liking".

See how stupid that sounds?

We could always HoH BioWare games in general from Shattered Steel on up through Awakenings (methinks Sonic would die quickly) ...

Why don't we just do a "Dragon Age" Hurt or Heal? It would make sense, since we just did a ME2 hurt or heal, and DA is the other BioWare game recently released. I'm not much of a fan of the member hurt or heal, mostly because most of us don't really know who's who. As for the allstar game characters, well, we all have different opinions, and there are just so many. Just my two cents. =)

Yes, I do see how stupid that sounds.  Because it's a bad comparision.

Which characters from a Bioware game that most of the members of the Bioware forums have played IS NOT the same thing as characters from games that most members of the Bioware forums haven't played.

Odds are, Luc0s, that a good number of the computer forum visiting members of the BSN are cRPG fans - and by that I do mean Computer RPG, not video game RPG.

The characters you listed are from  console games, console games that are not RPGs.  Metal Gear, Metroid, etc.
Zelda is on the fence, but I'd argue that it's action RPG at best, and that's not where I'd place it personally.  Cloud is from a JRPG, and while I personally like many JRPGs, there's a good portion of the forums who despise them.

So, again, I see how stupid your comparision is.  Saying your favorite character for a game that most everyone on these forums (who participated in the HoH especially) have played didn't make it into the HoH is NOT the same thing as saying that the majority of popular non-RPG console games are likely to have not been played by all the forum members.

---

on that point, I'd actually be one to get excited over text-based adventures.  Infocom ho!  How many Infocom games have you played, Luc0s?

---

And like I've said more than once, if Capt. Obvious puts up the poll and the majority of the votes go for "most popular video game characters like: Mario, Sonic, Crash, Samus, Master Chief, etc." then that's the one that is chosen and I'll most likely not play.  I won't complain - the voting will have spoken - but it's not for me.

Wow forgot to check for a couple days and look what happens. Oh well all my favorites did well - was rooting for Garrus, Mordin, and Kal'Reegar. I'm surprised Reegar held on as long as he did.

I don't really care too much about what the next one will be, I would have voted for Baldur's Gate but since that's not an option I'm just going to abstain from voting. I might play though.

There hasn't been a vote yet.  I think Capt. Obvious will put up a new poll with all the suggestions.

BG has been suggested twice, it'll probably be an option.

Also this. Unfortunately, I don't know who any of the above characters are, so that would completely prevent me from understanding it.

I don't see how you link HoH games automatically with RPGs. What makes you think a HoH game should be based on RPGs?

I also don't see how you came to the conclusion that the majority of this forum has never played on a console and never have played these awesome great and revolutionairy titles such as Sonic, Zelda, Metroid, Mario, Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Kid Icarus, Halo, God of War and Gears of War.
Just because you have never played them doesn't mean the rest of the forum never played them either. As I believe most members here are 20 years and older, I think many of us have once started on a console (in the good old days where Sega was Nintendo's no. 1 rival) and I think many of us know at least some of these legendary titles/series I just mentioned (and yes, they are legendary).

If you seriously have never played any of these titles or series or dare to say that all of them are crap of mediocre then I seriously think you are weird (don't take this offense, but I really do).

Your argument about "not all players have played these games you mentioned" is invalid, because I'm sure that a big part of this forum hasn't played KOTOR either, or Baldur's Gate, or Jade Empire. So basically you could use that argument against every HoH suggestion. But atleast with a (classic) allstar video-game heroes HoH the chances are big that everyone on this forum as played atleast SOME of these titles that are going to be in a classic allstar HoH game.

PS: I haven't played any Infocom games and I don't see how that has anything to do with this discussion.

LOL, when *I* started gaming the big system wars were Intellivision vs the Atari. Anyone else remember leaving trails of dots - I mean Reces Pieces - for ET to follow or declaring war on your rivial island nation in Utopia or cheating in Boxing by standing behind your foe and hitting feint thus ensuring a KO??

The Infocom comment was directed at me and Pacifien probably, Luc0s, as I mentioned I'd like a HoH based off of text adventures, and before there was MUDing there was Zork. See how he dotted off that part? Different train of thought distinct from your arguement.

I still think an all-out BioWare showdown might get the liveliest reaction from the community, which could be either good or bad. LOL

Exactly. I don't know how much I'm going to have to reiterate that what ever option gets the highest vote is pretty much dogma from then on. And for the record, for those of you wondering the poll will be hosted tonight...or tonight where I am. That's why I'm saying that you voice your suggestions now before the poll is up(and yes by that I mean whatever type of HoH game you want).

Which is exactly what scares me. I've saying HoHs with tons of characters never finish because by the time half the characters were finally gone nobody wanted to go on. I want to experiment someday with how many you can put in an HoH game. I honestly don't see it happening. Putting "...yet" was just wishful thinking on my part. And while there others that would like this idea, the problem is that the majority wouldn't even know who half the characters on the list are. Sorry I led some to think that I would do a Star Wars HoH featuring both levels of canon. To be honest, I didn't see it happening. I just didn't want to scare myself into thinking that.

Bottomline: it would be too complicated.

It's sad that I actually finished E.T. on the 2600. Several times in fact. I don't remember the old system wars though. It wasn't until the NES and Master System became prominent that I was exposed to that conflict. Ah, nostalgia... :)

See. I was a wee child playing video games and I grew-up just fine to be a productive(ish) member of society.

Yeah, sweet memories of childhood past. My whole family participated in games, took turns playing Utopia, did Skiing (listening to the thumps as we fell all over the place) and boxing, played Ultimate Wizard and Jumpman once we got the C64. I miss that aspect of gaming - my brother and parents and I passing the joystick or controller back and forth, sitting huddled together on the floor around the TV. *sigh*

Most of the multiplayer games I can play with my family now are only 2 or 4 player games, and I bred too well and have a large and odd number of people. Where are the 6 and 8 player games of the not-so-distant past??

Though I sympathize with your nostalgia SarEnyaDor (I still cherish my old NES and Gameboy classic), I don't think living in the past is a good thing. I for a change love the revolutionary games the modern technology provides us. I'm looking forward to quite a lot of games that should be released this year or early 2011.

Mario, Sonic, Kirby and old-school Zelda will forever stay in my heart, but I'm open for new (and awesome) stuff.
