Just because you have never played them doesn't mean the rest of the forum never played them either. As I believe most members here are 20 years and older, I think many of us have once started on a console (in the good old days where Sega was Nintendo's no. 1 rival) and I think many of us know at least some of these legendary titles/series I just mentioned (and yes, they are legendary).

Er... The only ones of these games that I've played are Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass, and Final Fantasy XII.
Since the Final Fantasy characters change in each one, it's hard to know what characters to choose.

I'd say we should go for the most popular FF games if we would do a all-star video-game hero HoH. That means Cloud and Sephiroth (both from FF7) should represent Final Fantasy in the all-star HoH. They are both famous characters who kept returning in different games such as the Kingdom Hearts series and Final Fantasy Crisis Core.

...The main reason I know who Cloud is would be Kingdom Hearts.
I have no idea what Sephiroth looks like or what his personality is.

For all you people out there, I'm going to put up the poll in an hour and a half. Just thought I'd let you guys know. Anywho, what I'm really afraid of when it comes to All Star HoH(not that I'm not a supporter of the idea) is that people may not be familiar with some of the characters. I mean, let's say a person voted for All Star but he doesn't know a thing about, let's say, Gears of War, God of War, or Zelda. I mean, what I'm trying to say is that it might be a bit overwhelming having all those characters that come from different games. Sure there will be one or two representative characters for each game but the sheer diversity might confuse everybody.

Maybe I'm just looking at things the wrong way but I still have my doubts.

No, I agree. It seems like it would be... daunting, to say the least.

Also, how long will we have to vote on the poll before the results are decided?

Though I sympathize with your nostalgia SarEnyaDor (I still cherish my old NES and Gameboy classic), I don't think living in the past is a good thing. I for a change love the revolutionary games the modern technology provides us. I'm looking forward to quite a lot of games that should be released this year or early 2011.

Mario, Sonic, Kirby and old-school Zelda will forever stay in my heart, but I'm open for new (and awesome) stuff.

I'm just saying when I was a kid there were alot of games my whole family could play together (with a couple of friends even) but now the best I can do for family fun is 4 player games which leaves a couple of us out in the dust, not the best way to make siblings get along.


I'm a big fan of recent games (hence the reason I still play them) just wish there were more good multiplayer games, I don't really want to play Halo or MW2 with my kids - doesn't exactly breed love and contentment when Mommy and Daddy shoot the kids before bed.

Most of the decent games for family entertainment are single player with a possible co-op mode, or a party mode with 4 players.... and all the games you listed were single player games, too, with the exception of Sonic where you could play vs and Zelda if you count Four Swords, but again not really multiplayer.

I have no complaints about single player games, there are plenty of good ones of those.

My worst case scenario would be an all-star game related Hurt or Heal that pits new versus old because I don't think my mind could mentally handle a scenario where GLaDOS wins over SHODAN. Won't anyone think of Pacifien's fragile mental state?

Well, that's okay, I can see why someone could hate Gears of War. Besides, I was being sarcastic when I made that post about Gears of War anyway so.

I didn't like Lost Planet either, it just isn't my game.


By the way, I have another (propably stupid) HoH suggestion: An graphic-novel (comic book) super heroes HoH game with all the stars from Marvel and DC.

But I guess not many if you are devoted graphic-novel readers, or am I mistaken now?

Well... as it is, I'm not able to get comic books here. I do know who many are, (I think. There's so many that sometimes I'm not sure) though.
I dunno. I'd still vote for KotOR first, but it does sound interesting.
