I've played it thru a few times and have had enough with the bugs as well as the lack of support fixing them. Gonna go download another game not from these guys. Good luck to all the DA:O fans.

Yea, a new patch would be nice. Something to perhaps fix some of the bugs introduced by 1.3.. like pickpocketing. A month without any word is a bit long to go. I think most of us here would be satisfied with an answer like 'we know of the bugs, we are working on a patch it should be out sometime in the next X days/months'. Though honestly what annoys me is you guys releasing 0 day content, and DLCs while ignoring the vanilla game issues. I would not mind a 0 day patch which fixed some of the bugs. Like you said to justify releasing it.. you have ~3 months before the final code is put to disk. Spend this time TESTING it if you did not do so already (which awakening looks like it was not.. all the crashes to desktop. pickpocket glitch, the joining one, textures.. DLC items spawning that should not.... ) Most players are not wanting another DLC we simply want a patch that fixes the more blaring issues of this game.. or are we going to have to go all Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines on you and make a FAN based patch in an attempt to fix your sloppy coding?

While normaly i think of these as pointless complaints about pointless issues, in this case i will agree a patch is needed to fix the multiple bugs in awakening, don't pull a bethsada on us and leave us with a broken game bioware >__>

Sad thing is it has almost been a month, with really no word. I'm begining to think they're not even working on a patch any more. I'm gonna go with wishpig on this one and say they'll patch it with the next DLC so that we have to pay for it, it is EA after all. And lord forbid, we should get a free patch to the game we payed for.

it'd be nice if issues with the first game were fixed though as well, not just awakening

This is the awesome task facing patch 1.04 (assuming they are working on it).

It has to fix some of the lingering issues with Origins that no patch has yet fixed since day one. (Or ignore them. They might choose that strategy. Console players, you may never see the Ancient Elven Boots or get that dex-bug-fix, ever. What can I tell you?)

It has to fix whatever 1.03 screwed up.

And it has to solve the numerous issues with Awakening.

Oh, I have no doubt it will take a long time, and I'm willing to be patient, but a little word always goes a long way.

Like "we're at work on 1.04, we know these issues, and please be patient with us" would go a long way; but it's irritating that there's no statement of that kind.

Even just a list of "hey guys here's what 1.04 should fix. It will be out before you die. We promise. Signed, BioWare" or something.

It is indeed a major task facing them.  But it's par the course.  We've seen Bioware, and even other companies put out a huge patch which fixes issues in a recently released expansion, as well as issues from previous patches, and issues with the original game all at once.

And for starters, this patch shouldn't be called "1.04".   1.04 suggests  another small one.  It should  be a much bigger advancement than a one-hundredth of a point in version scope.   It should be 1.10.... or something like that.

The problem I see is that  unlike previous games of theirs,  here they  have to contend with   the different platforms  (Xbox, PS3, and PC) and I suppose that's making the update process take longer.   But again, I've seen devs come on here and play  such a thing down in the past,  saying that they have   different  crews tasked  to each platform, so a simultaneous effort can happen.

But perhaps the real reason  it's taking them so long is that they're all just busy  right now holding  silly auctions and thinking up New DLCs.

That said, I, for one, have a limit to my patience.    This summer I plan on buying a new computer, which means I'll be  re-installing my old  games on it.  But I sure as hell don't have the desire to install a  BUGGED  old  game, not when there's no sign whatsoever that anyone plans on fixing it.

I agree with you MDD. Also, why not at LEAST patch the god damn armor and vigilance- it's irresponsible to release an INCOMPLETE game. It's the main gear of the expansion, and console users cannot use it because EA is a bunch of money whoring, lazy ass....well yeah, I'll stop there. It's more of EA's fault then Bioware I'm sure...it always is ><;

Maybe. What I wonder is why Bioware needs EA. Whatever EA does, it sure has more negative effects than positive ones...

One would think that a company with BioWare's rep wouldn't need some leech like EA at all.

Personally, I'm holding back playing the expansion until they finally wake up and patch the game. I TRIED To play it, ran into a few near-gamebreaking issues, and moved back to Yakuza 3.

This much waiting to be able to play the game without excessive issues is honestly shameful.
As a little sign of my disappointment, I'm also holding back purchasing the Kasumi DLC for ME2 until DA is patched. Not giving them further money until i'm satisfied of their work.

Hmm only had one glitch at the final boss fight at the ending, everything else ran fine for DAA xpack

ME2 only ran into a few stops where terrain movement was the problem

Actually I found quite a few instances of enemies (darkspawn) in awakening that do exactly that.
That's what made me close the game and move to something else until it's patched.

I think that the worst part is that not all of the bugs are the same for people on the same platforms. I have never expeirenced the Silverite Mine's bug or the I can't be killed bug, or some of the other bugs reported by many PS3 player. Yet, I still have the armor/vigilance bug and Yuria's stock not upgrading.

Don't worry: autosave seems to be bugged too in awakening. (LOLS)
Seriously, it saves only in certain area, and if you trust the autosave function you find yourself in the situation many player experienced: your last save is 3-4 hour of gameplay back...

BTW, the game is that bugged I seriously wanted to have my money back with the warranty, but after having read the warranty statement i was dissappointed: it clearly states that the warranty applies only if the physical support (the disc) is damaged, and it does not apply for ANY software fault, becouse "AT THE MOMENT OF THE RELEASE THE SOFTWARE IS AS IT MEANT TO BE" (that is a translation from my italian copy)

Congratulations BW.

An 1.04 patch is already on the way, and anyway I don't think Bioware would leave a game of this magnitude unpatched.

...although it's true that the patch is getting a bit late, too

Do you have a source for that? Because I see no announcement of a patch.
Although...
Maybe the "mystery date"  (02.01.2011) is not an expansion but a patch (only 160 MS Points)! Fixing all the bugs from Origins and introducing only 50 new ones for Awakenings! And we will have a worldwide community-patch-party-giveaway (open only to US residents)! Can't wait!
