We have gone through all of the votes and can now announce the winner of the 2010 March Mayhem: Developer's Showdown.
After one EPIC clash, Valve has defeated BioWare for the title!

Congratulations to both Valve and BioWare for an amazing March Mayhem and one of the greatest match-ups of all time!

To leave any tournament feedback to make this even better next year, please go here: http://www.escapistm...nament-Feedback

Also, we will be contacting the winners from our prize sponsors shortly, so please keep an eye on your email.

And...it's OVER.

Well....cheaters prosper most of the time in the short run at least...contrary to the popular proverb. At least they deleted the cheaters in this case. :P

And because they like to cheat..they'll do it again.   heh  No lesson learned there.

Lessons?....what are those?....LOL

So Bioware ended trailing 159 votes behind Valve, and in spite of attempts on both sides to cheat....with multiple accounts, it was a very close race in the end.

Congrats to both Developper teams. :)

Well, it was a damn good run BioWare. You definetly earned it in my books. The only reason Valve won was because all of their gamers were busy voting, while we were too busy playing your games, LOL. Why should we vote when we are face deep in your games? Still great job BioWare!

Hey, Valve might put up a steam to celebrate there supreme, ultimate victory like they have done a few times i.e. gamespot greatest hero of all time.

Perhaps it will be something cool like Bioware and Valve games all at 75% off! Or something lame like, nothing, will happen, at all.

Valve usually does random deals though, wouldn't be surprised

We came very close to winning, but in the end, Valve edged out BioWare 13147 to 12988 to take the championship.

There is no shame to losing out to a company as awesome as Valve. They make excellent games and we're proud to have lost to such a worthy opponent. This is also the second year in a row that BioWare has come in second (last year to Turbine), which in itself is quite the achievment.

Thanks to all of our excellent fans who helped us get so far in the contest. Next year we'll have more Dragon Age, more Mass Effect and a certain MMO to help us get all the way to the number one spot.

Thanks everyone and congratulations to Valve. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/smile.png[/smilie]

Valve has done so much for gaming but I would of voted for bioware if we didnt get the slap in the face with the bazzar fiasco :)

Zynga..= The Great Pretenders can't fathom how they managed to be included in there, and beat out some well known dev teams like NCSoft..for instance, thats just shameful. A browser appie Dev...give me a break. Hopefully we don't see them again next year. Who are they trying to kid.

Question is if there in fact aren't enough who think like this that it might actually have looked very different in case the "community event" had been handled differently.

Look, I am just happy that those guys of Turbine didn't get even near to the finals. They offended BW fans last year quite strongly enough.

Well, in the end their both excellent companies and both have made many major advances for gaming. They both make very different kinds of games, comparing Bioware to Valve is like apples to oranges.

I am actually quite interested in SWTOR, although in the last few months I had sworn off MMOs.  We'll see. :)
