 Mmmm, maybe Greg was kinda like Cullen in his youth? Had an affair with a young mage girl, but she dumped him, run away and became an apostate, and that's why Greg hates mages so much! And that girl was Anders' mother. 
But actually I don't believe it because I think Greg is still a virgin
