And I certaibly don't want to do it, so it must remain intolerable!

This part gives it away guys.

You are of the opinion that as long as there's shootin and f**kin' it's good writing, I take it?

No, I just think that many video games are not more meaningful than this.

How often do you see video games that are about triumphing over the opression of racism or sexism, or about the struggle for acceptance as a homosexual?

OK, back to my original point.  It's not that ME2 doesn't show a 'triumph over homophobia', it is that the game has references to homosexual content that I find offensive (and some others do as well).   If you're not going to depict any positive homosexual relationships and only show negative ones, then don't show them at all.

So if I'm understanding you properly, the gripe here actually isn't about the lack of a ******/bi-sexual option in the game, it's rather that they included some reference to it but only in the negative and none of it in the possitive.

Well, I don't know enough to agree or disagree with you about that, but it certainly does make a lot more sense than the other 90% of the complaints being voiced.

You're right.  The internet really lowers your expectations of people.

That is a fairly accurate summary of what I hear from the homophobic crowd. They of course, won't summarize it like that, because it makes them look like closet gays using homophobia as a front. But when you remove the gibberish from what they say, and draw the only logical conclusion between the points they do make, that's what you get.

Such people are clearly afraid that homosexuality will devour the earth if it is not kept in check by intolerance and legal obstacles. You can't argue with that kind of stupidity.

@JohnnyDollar: I was backing you up. There is indeed little tolerance in western society. For reasons as stupid as I imitated.

Yes you can. It's just really really really frustrating.

And there is always the danger of stupid people being right instead of wrong, and arguing for tollerance and understanding, but doing so stupidly, and making things worse instead of better as a result.

I'm sorry I ever doubted you. The internet has a way of making your conviction in people waver.

You think, "That had to be sarcasm".

Then suddenly you pause, and falter. Doubt starts to creep in, and then you're like, "... Wait. That was  sarcasm, wasn't it?"

If you've been around enough threads you will see that some people are very sarcastic with responses like that, but then you will also see that some people are dead serious.  Karstedt is one that I have seen with the more sarcastic responses.

I can understand the doubt. Anyone who pays attention to US news and politics can hardly be blamed for thinking we are a bunch of dead serious retards. I mean... C'mon!?!? Guam isn't going to capsize! NEVER! EVER!

What's sad is I became so disgusted with shows like Fox that I started watching Jon Stewart as a way of getting news and now cannot conceive that anyone could find us dead serious.

A lot of the news is sensationalist bull****. Sensationalism sadly enough attracts viewers. You put in an edgy or controversial headline to a "news" report and people are drawn to it, sometimes in agreement or disagreement. A news story from NPR, clearly of liberal leanings, published a story with the headline "Men are less evolved than women," when the real facts were just that some parts of male genes have remained the same where as some parts of female genes have been changing more frequently or more during human and hominid history. The headline, however, implies something controversial. Later the headline was changed, but I found it amusing as well as somewhat revolting.

It's because he came back as a cyborg, and they programed his head to be Hetro & Hetro only.

Edt: I wonder what they did to his genital to stay erect during romance scenes. Image IPB

8 years of talking about the Bush presidency will age anyone.

Nah, actually the aging is fairly recent.  It's from him covering the 1st year of the Obama Administration.:)

I know whenever I play Mass Effect my characters always have red armor and the Internationale playing permanently in the background. I imagine the assault on the Collector Base is striking a blow against the oppressors!!!!
