If you are as tired as I am with the endless image spam and signature images I'm delighted to say there is an easy and elegant solution ... if you are a Firefox user.
Simply download the AdBlock Plus and AdBlock Plus: Element Hiding Helper add-ons (assuming you don't already have one). Once installed use the Select element to hide option from the ADP menu (or Shift + Ctrl + K) and move the mouse so it highlights any image spam or signature image. Click and it should create a new rule: social.bioware.com##IMG.bb-image
This little rule hides anything embeded with the IMG tags on social so should get rid of all image spam and signature images but doesn't affect the rest of the site. This is much better than my previous attempts of block everything from photobucket, imageshare, et al.

What signature?
Actually I just checked and you don't actually need the AdBlock Plus: Element Hiding Helper add-on (though it is useful). So long as you have AdBlock Plus you can manually enter the rule from my first post. To do this select Preferences from the ABP menu, and then select Filters > Add filter ... menu option on the AdBlock Plus Preferences window, copy and paste the rule in and okay/apply everything.

Another rule you might like (as it hides the entire signature) is: social.bioware.com##DIV.forum_post_signature

And for those of us not participating in the Bazaar: social.bioware.com##DIV#bazaar

Thanks, Sunjammer, much obliged!
As gratitude I offer you this rule, which hides the images in a poster's signature, but not the text:
And this rule which hides the images in a poster's signature that are enclosed in anchor tags:
Note: The new rules are located in the post below, these are considered deprecated.

I have made a small tweak to the image-blocking rule to ensure that it functions properly under most conditions.
Now the images will be hidden even when they are not direct children of the signature's div-element.
Hide images located in a person's signature:
social.bioware.com##div.forum_post_signature img.bb-image

I'm sad. So I can't get you guys to click on my signature? Ever?
I can certainly understand your reasoning, though.
