Now that I've used the worlds most epic and intimidating quotation, I have questions about Sovereign.

1. Was his voice as good as Vader's?
2. Was he one of the top/oldest reapers, or a new/lower guy?
3. Will Harbinger be as epic and awesome a villain as Sovereign in ME3?

1. Possibly. They are certainly both uber-cool.

2. No information available.

3. Sequel bad guys hardly ever live up to original series bad guys, and Harbinger was really just more of the same, except he stayed behind the scenes and didn't dare face Shep face to face. Maybe he was scared to?

1. I liked James Earl Jones more.

2. No knowledge found of Reaper hierarchy.

3. If someone writes better lines than "I KNOW YOU FEEL THIS" and "GENETIC DESTINY" blah blah blah, then his dialogue alone has potential for universal epicness.

1. Better than Vader, not as good as Gravemind

2. Vanguard of Distrustion

We, good sir, have a serious problem.  Gravemind in the same league as Vader?  I think not

#1 They both are classic voice/quote in my book.
#2 No hierarchy among reapers that we know of but i believe sovereign was more "important" and harbinger is just the 5th wheel or the plan B.
#3 He is a wuss and is in need of a serious asskicking Minsc Style.

I agree that line is the most badass line ever. I had it in my bio on my gamercard for a while but then I started feeling like a major nerd so I took it off.

1) I don't know about that, but his infamous monologue is definitely up there with my favorite villain moments in just about any medium.

2) We don't seem to know, but I'm not sure if there was an explanation for his... uh... how do I say this without spoilers... his being where he was in ME1 when all the other Reapers were somewhere else. Maybe that means something. Maybe we should discuss this in the ME1 subforum.

3) We don't even know if he'll be back in ME3... I dunno, Harbinger barely got any screentime, so he seems pretty underwhelming by comparison. His silly combat oneliners are pretty much instant classics in my book ("this hurts you" - larf), but I guess we'll see. ME3 needs to up the ante in terms of epic villain-tude again, that's for sure.

1) best villain monologue in a game thus far.
2.) No information on his age in relation to other reapers was given. Regarding his rank, it sounded like the reapers don't have rank or a hierarchy. "We are each a nation, independent, free of all weakness."
3.) Harbinger is off to a good start but I don't think he's on par with Sovereign yet; this will probably be rectified in ME3.

1. nothing beats vader

2. Sovereign must be well trusted by all the other reapers to give him the responsibility of opening up the gate for all the other reapers

3. considering that we had to beat an entire game just to fight his PUPPET, yea hes gona be one badass mothafcka

That line is up there with the Gman saying, "The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world."

1.Vader's is still better, but only because of the lols

2.We have no idea and I suck at speculation...but I guess sorta like the Geth?

3.I likes Harbinger...showed more....tactfulness then Sovereign who went around the galaxy proving reapers exist looking for help. Harbinger waited for the right moment to strike and hit humans hard and in the crotch...by making a human reaper. I have to give Harbinger more props..

The Vader comment is win.  I agree, I just wanted to see everyone's opinion on the matter

1. Nah, Vader/James Earl Jones is in a class of his own. Among Bioware's games, I feel that Baldur's Gate II's Irenicus holds the edge over Sovereign. And Gravemind? Bleh. Arbitor/Captain Anderson is better.

2. Does it matter? He's reduced to scrap now, who cares?

3. See 2.

He's still on his way to do some face to face. The edge of space is pretty far away!

I was always fond of Jon Irenicus's speeches, like when you left the sewers. One of my favorite scenes in Baldur's Gate 2.

1. No, Vader's voice is superior

2. Sovereign was the one that got left behind, so maybe the reapers didn't want the new guy haning around them?

3. Reapers are sentient AI, they are pretty much all the same

1)Too much nostalgia is attached to Vader's voice for an unbiased opinion there.

2)Sovereign seems to have the "typical" Reaper form, like the 37 million-year-old derelict Reaper in ME2. So I'm thinking he may be one of the originals. It makes sense to leave someone behind who knows what they're doing. It sure would suck to be stuck out in dark space.... oh wait.

3)Harbinger, as the name implies, may be a bigger problem in person than he is telecommuting on the long distance phone line. But I'd imagine that the whole Reaper fleet is going to be main issue.

Puh-leese... the only creature in the galaxy that has more contempt for Shepard than Sovereign is the Turian councilor. "Ahh yes... 'Reapers'"

1.His voice doesn't stack up next to Darth's.

2.Not sure

3.We better get to wipe the floor with his squid face in ME3

1. Sovereign's voice is clearly better than Vaders IMO.

2. The reapers are "each a nation", so I guess there is no definite hierarchy. Although I do think that Sovereign was kind of special as it was the one reaper that staid behind to let the others back in (... and messed it up)

3. We don't really know much about Harbinger, do we? The one liners were kind of lame though. I think/hope that after the whole Collector plan went down the drain they'll come up with something completely new. How about a Project Lazarus for Sovereign? I guess that would scare the hell out of the council (no more "ah yes... reapers").

I wonder if reapers ability with indoctrination is the same, or some ships (Harby) are much more adept at it.

Harby (Birdman) could control collectors with long distance calls... that has to mean something.

Maybe not all reapers are the same, maybe some are more weapon based and others like to mind control more....

I don't know, I thought the long rang mind control was due to the changes the reapers made to the protheans. I know it isn't specifically said so in the game but it is referenced several times (especially be EDI IIRC) that the protheans were biologically modified from their original form to better serve the reapers. If Harby (that nickname allready forbids the use of Harbinger as a credible villain in ME3 :), I love it) could control anyone just by an intergalactic phone call, organics are screwed.

ME2 ENDING SPOILER ALERT

On the other hand, it would be cool if it had something to do with the collector station. Imagine TIM under Harbys control in ME3 if you don't blow the place to bits. That would be a fitting end for the guy.

Not to mention that it would help BioWare to end the Cerberus collaboration pretty quickly, no matter what your decision was -> converge multiple storylines again for better narrative control.

Sorry, went a bit off topic there.
