BUUUUUT since you asked...

Me, my Shepard's good at a lot of things.  And if he's not, well, he often tries to convince himself otherwise.  This is the case with his love life.  He gets attracted to a woman based on physical appearance, he backpedals and tries to find other reasons to have a relationship.  Good, long-lasting reasons.  More often than not, he can't find them, and eventually the relationship drifts apart.  Plus, since he doesn't get into a lot of relationships that much, he hasn't got a clue what a REAL romantic relationship is.

So the heavens figure, "Hey, you died once.  I'll give you a break.  Here's Tali."  She caused a paradigm shift in him.  Made him realize that what he was doing before wasn't the way to go about it.  This is someone he personally really cares for, someone he likes for all their little (or big, in Tali's case) flaws and quirks and troubles.  Since the suit is stopping him from going for the obvious attraction, he's gotten a chance to see what kind of person she is, and that's how he really realized that this one's more special to him than any other woman he's gone out with.

Sure, she's an alien.  Has things that unnerve him a little.  But hey, he'll press on.  Because now he finally knows what to look for.  And when someone drops a golden opportunity in your lap, you don't push it off, friend.  You keep it there and let it hum.

Why? The people that were here know what went on. Most of the little minfics and funny jokes are either part of the group at this point or have been saved in blogs, emails, and files. Whats it matter how many total posts there are.
