"I didn't know Rael'Zorah personally.  The closest I ever got to know him was a message sent to me approving Tali's transfer onto the Normandy.  He also left a message on his person when we found him on the Alarei.  Besides that, Tali told me everything else I knew about him.

I don't know what I could say to really do Rael'Zorah's memory justice.  I've heard good and bad things about him.  But I do know he worked hard to give as much as he could to the Migrant Fleet, and I commend him for that.  He's given you knowledge and fathered a daughter that I'm proud to have on my crew.  He was a man who tried hard to do good.  That's the best any of us can do.  We can't choose to be heroes, but if we choose to do our best every day of our lives, it's a life worth living.  Rael'Zorah did that.  He didn't do it perfectly, but no one does.  And that's fine enough."

This would probably be the best thing that could be said under the circumstances.

Always thought that was a little odd. Perhaps a small swivel chair that moves along a grooved path in the floor is called for.

Tali, spinning around in a swivel chair.

That's cute.

The doors to engineering swoosh open, and Shepard stops dead in his tracks, staring in amused confusion.

"Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!"

"Tali, what...?"  Shepard starts to ask.  Tali quickly stops spinning in her newly installed chair and stands, swaying a little as if dizzy.

"Oh...Shepard...umm.  Hi?"  Her hands involuntarily meet at her waist, wringing as if in embarrassment.

"You like your new chair I take it?"

Everything moved in slow motion: He could see the bullets as
the struck their targets taking the life from more of his men. Alliance
command wanted this mission completed at all costs but the price was already too
high he couldn’t let it go on.

The rage swelled inside building into unbearable levels utilizing
all of his training he focused it into a massive blast of raw biotic power,
that would of made an Asari matriarch envious.

            “Shepard,
Shepard.” He could feel her slender fingers wrapped around his bare arm and it
brought him back to reality.

            “I’m back
Tali don’t worry it was just a nightmare.” He assured his love.

            “It was
Torfan again wasn’t it?” The concern in her voice cut his heart like a knife he
hated it when she was upset.

            “Yeah love
it was it always is.” He replied.

Looking at the true concern on her face affected him deeply.
This woman, his wife, so strong, caring and beautiful made his knees weak and
his soul sing. She was one of the few people that could look past his title of
The Butcher of Torfan and see the man that he really was underneath. She accepted
the fact that he had to complete his mission and that it wasn’t his choice to
thrown his men to their deaths.

            Every night
the Dream haunted him. He could taste the tang of copper in his mouth and smell
the fresh blood in the air. The screams of his dying men pounded in his ears clawing
against his brain causing him to thrash and scream in his sleep.

            Every night
however she was there to pull him back to reality, to assure him that he did
what he had to do and to comfort him by reminding him that he learned from his
mistake.

            He smiled
at his wife “Honey I’m fine let’s go back to bed.”

            ‘Okay Dear.”
Tali replied her eyes shining with trust and honest acceptance of the man that
is her husband.

            Looking
deeply into those eyes Shepard knew that he honestly could not express how much
he loved and appreciated this beautiful woman so he simply said “I am honored
to be your husband Tali.” and with that feel asleep into her arms.

like i said it's a rough draft that i am going to pollish up and ture into a whole FF.
