Okay, random question for the thread minions: anyone consider themselves a fairly competent editor or proof reader? Due to numerous bits of feedback on my fic it is becoming clear I am a failure at self editing.



I would offer to pay you, but I seem to lack any way to actually do that.

Almost the same that I do. I just switch Jack for Samara. and Garrus for Miranda. I bring Garrus with me.

The amazing thing on that thread is that they even have complete priority lists. Who's more likely to die than who. Moot point with all the upgrades and correct choices.

Education major with a minor in English right here.  I have been referred to as a grammar **** for the better part of a decade by my peers.  As a fan of your fic I'd be willing to try and help out.

Nah. I can't write to save my life. I'd help you if I could. I'd suggest Cream or NB as Riptide is busier than all hell.

I could do it.

Though, I'm really not the best editor.

Reckoning is a god-aweful mess by the time I get down with it.

I can only help with basic typos and that sort of stuff. Can't give any hints on how to get a better text flow.

Yes, I'm relatively certain Rip must just have a caffine IV, as there is no way the man sleeps.

My issue is I just tend to miss minor grammar mistakes and spelling things. I suck at reading my own work, because in my head I fill in the details without actually fixing them because I know what its supposed to say.

Just water.

And, everyone makes that mistake. I can usually edit my own work, I just have to sleep, then do it the next day. I then comb it three or four times until it's seemless.

Haven't been paying that much attention to detali lately though...

Ah well. I'm going to go pass out. I think I'll have to try poking the beta-reader section thing at FF.net with a stick to see what I can stir up. Not sure how much I trust the crazies there, but if it keeps the idiot mistakes out of my stuff I suppose I can live with it.
