Mouth of Madness is quite good, for what it is. It definitely captures the "reality as you understand it is a lie" horror that HPL liked.
Nuke, that reminds me, since I had my computer wiped, I lost all of my bookmarks. Would you mind sending me the link to the HP Lovecraft stories again when you have a free minute?

No necessarily. Guys dying in heroic (though often futile) sacrifice are a staple: Statement of Randolph Carter, the Hound, etc. The few times a woman is mentioned (aside from Asenath and Lavinia, of course) it's usually someone noting that they have to shield their wife from seeing something they shouldn't, like Armitage does in Dunwich Horror.Azint wrote...
You see now, if this was HPL himself writing this, Miss Williams would be true to her first name while Alenko would still be standing well and alive.NuclearBuddha wrote...
Edit: Thing on the Doorstep has the protagonist making sure his wife doesn't see what's left of Asenath's victim, too.

Awhile ago music came up and some agreed this would be like old Quarian music.
It's sorta doing the a capella thing.
what I personally liked about the celtic folk music that mckennett does is it tells stories and legends in song. Seems liek soem Quarians would do since they have ansestor worship.

I imagine that quarians have a monoply on that trade, or they at best only trust their own people to make these suits.NuclearBuddha wrote...
I'm not saying they don't make their own suits. As you note, they pretty much have to. I was questioning if they make or trade for the decoration to those suits.
It's possible they do have cottage industry making the stuff.

Ah.
Apologies. Misunderstood mission parameters.
Again, it doesn't seem like it would be something that hard to make, as it's just a long length of fabric, and for all we know there's some kind of. . . magic futuristic sewing machine that can pump such designs out faster than we would think.
Of course, they could also just buy them at some space JoAnns.
Hmm. I wonder if the designs have any kind of special meaning to them, or if they're just little more than decoration. . . Have we ever heard anything about that one way or the other?

Geez. Any quarian missions would require their own special 360 disk.

The actual reason is to avoid spending money developing unique detailed appearances for minor characters. Any justification would likely be incorrect, since they probably all would have unique decorations.
maybe im reading into it too much.... Medals would only pose problems if you kept them on a suit that you had to live and fight in. And maybe Tali just wanted to be different. She did help save the galaxy and all...

Second.
Always did figure it was an analog for hair (by the designers, not the quarians probably), but never thought about how they matched those statues, as you said. Interesting comparison.

One day I will find that damn book.
I know I could just order it online, but that's not the point. It's the principal of the matter.
