Pretty much this.

And I'm also a mysogynast and a rascist, or something.

You also misspelled "racist."

Just ignore them, I make that a lifestlye-- to ignore imbecilic assertions of human integrity and welfare.

No, I mean really!  It's doesn't feel like it's just trolling or sour grapes.  There's something serious going on there.

I want some elaboration.

I can't really begin to parse the argument.  It's as if being able to romance an alien is an affront or something, because the aliens aren't googly-eyed monsters with 16 quadruple-jointed manipulators who cannot even be comprehended by weak human minds.  It should be unpossible.

Pretty much this.

And I'm also a mysogynast and a rascist, or something.

Oh, aren't we all.

I guess.

Depends on your perspective.

I remember one woman ranting about how consensual sex between husband and wife still constitutes rape.

Ugh.

I'm out for the night. Maybe I'll be here tomorrow. Maybe not.

Later.

It is technically bestiality due to it being cross-species, but using it to describe the relationship is disingenuous.

"Bestiality" refers to an animal. Would a sapient alien race constitute as an animal or any sort of lesser being? The latter I actually have heard, and that stems from xenophobia.

...Which could be their case.

Yes -- "bestiality" refers to a "lower" animal -- one that isn't sapient. Bestiality would be humanxvarren, since varren have "bestial" traits.

Quarians by all means are sapient, as they can function both independently and cooperatively together in a society, along with a long list of other "sapient" traits.

So really, its not bestiality in a quarianxhuman sense

The whole argument of their being no aliens out their, that look like us, walk like us, etc. is ignorant. They cannot prove it, just as much as we can prove it. Well, actually, we can argue with probability.

500 billion + stars in this galaxy alone, not even counting the other galaxy's with just as many and even MORE stars. The possibilities are nearly endless, so to think that all aliens are giant squids with ten arms and fifty eyes is, like I said, ignorant.

But what proof do we have on our side though besides the possibilities?

Well, look in the mirror. We exist.

A quick look at the definition of bestiality sometimes says species, not animal specifically (which I imagine is what this certain person is justifying his or her condemnation with). (also, I maintain that humans are animals). However, the reason I believe it is disingenuous is because we have not met a sapient species that are not humans, yet (if ever).

Semantics, Collider.

You do understand what I was trying to say. I see it more as racism than anything else in this context. And "bestiality" is a strong word that will incite emotional responses, take for instance the point of the discussion.

So you are arguing that you assume they are drunk therefore invalidating their discussion?  I do not recall them indicating that they are drunk.

Your interpretation of it is just as valid as mine - please stop reaching at hypotheticals to "prove" your argument.

So hypotheticals are off limits?  Excellent.  Then the in-game discussion of a hypothetical reason for asari attractiveness you're using as proof can be voided.  Where were we?

Really striving to be an **** aren't you Nuke? Maybehaps I misspoke using the term hypotheticals. You are assuming they are drunk - which I do not recall as being established in the game - as the basis to invalidate a discussion. In short:

You are making **** up to support your argument.

I was attempting to request that you stick to information from the games, as stated n the games, when making a logical argument. That is all.

So **** you, I am done with this off topic discussion. You clearly have no interest in a genuine discussion of this topic.

I gotta say, the first time the xenophilia=bestiality thing got brought to court in the ME setting (and you know some hater would try) I think it would

a. get laughed out of court

b. quickly get hushed up to avoid an interstellar incident.

It doesn't really meet any of the "unable to give consent" parameters that most of those laws end up resting on.

yea. I think the word was chosen by this person partly because it is "extreme."

Hell, there can even be another Earth out there somewhere with aliens that looks exactly like us.

We can't prove it, but we can't dismiss it, either.

Good point.  I think that popular culture has already accepted the idea to a certain extent.  Certainly more than it accepts (that is to say, not at all) actual bestiality.

No, I merely am stating that your dissmisive writing style is perceived, at least by me, as condescending.  Pisses me right the hell off.  Maybehaps I am oversensitive right now - having a relative gunned down by a @!#$#@$!#@$%@#$%@#$%@#$ criminal will do that to you.  If I am reading to much into it, then sorry.

I would imagine that was taken care of relatively early in the whole process of meeting other races personally.  As soon as the asari and salarians (or whoever was first,) met each other, they would need to work out a lot of things along those lines.  And with asari likely being the trend setter, I have a hard time seeing anything other than a very open arms policy being implemented.

What is beyond is unknown, and what is unkown is always anticipated and feared.

We are trying to grasp metaphysical concepts that really have no meaning in our world. At least not until we do find something.

Not to mention that terrible "we gotta mate with other species" thing in Asari culture.

Exactly, you cannot say their isn't, because you have no proof. Just like we can't say their is.

BUT, luckily for us, the possibilities are on our side. We've already started observing other planets outside our solar system. They're big planets, gas giants because we just started doing it, later (actually fairly soon) we'll be able to observe smaller planets, much like our own in size. We can tell what type of atmosphere it's made of, something to do with how the planets stars light bounces off it or something. Won't get into it now.

If we don't blow our selves up... The future is starting to look very promising.

Also, look up Fusion tech. That's gonna be our stepping stone.

The only thing that bothers me about it is that they glorify it. I finally got around to how they do not condone asari x asari action.

When this planet can no longer sustain life, and we have to travel to another star system to find something habitable, it's probably not going to be my problem.

Because I will most likely be dead. Either of old age, or I'll die when the next world war for the last valuable resources breaks loose.

Or when someone with power/nukes goes nuts and starts the apocalypse.

Well, besides the whole 'bestiality' deal. More humans accept the thought of aliens more than ever. Even the Pope and Catholic church.

Eventually, I think the idea of aliens will become common knowledge or belief.

I think Samara says that she just suspects it might have something to do with the asari x asari taboo.
