I can't believe I'm the only one who would do Predator Tali. It's not about what she looks like, hasn't the Talimance showed you that it kinda isn't about looks?

As I said, it's not exactly my mental image either (especially since the placeholder already looks unbelievably beautiful), I'm just overanalyzing things.




Also, I vote the Mass Effect 3 CGI teaser is the following:
-We start at the floor, at Tali's feet, she's not wearing her metal boots, but still what appears to be her envirosuit, her third toe is wiggling, very cute.
-As the camera starts moving up, we see more of the lower portion of her suit, she's sitting on a chair, apparantly the camera is under a table at this point.
-We keep moving up, the upper portion comes into vision, but oddly, the arms appear to be cut off, revealing what seems to be -insert your colour of choice- skin.
-We move up even further, revealing Tali's mouth, as it slowly works in spaghetti.
-Slowly, the camera moves up further and zooms out, revealing her beautiful, CGI face in it's full glory.
-Her eyes look at the camera, she swallows her spaghetti and goes "What?".

dude send that to bioware, id laugh so hard if they actually did that

Yeah, I really like Tali. But I want quarian standard's of beauty to be different from human's. Besides, we already have the asari =p

I want to see other characters like Tali, Kaidan, Jacob, Legion, Wrex, etc in the CG trailers. There was a bit of Garrus in one of the ME1 trailers, but I want to see him again in CGI.

Hey, don't lump me in with everyone else! I'd hit Predator Tali with the force of a nuclear weapon.

I was just debating whether or not to find a female Predator picture to underscore my point.

I know, but at least they're more alien than the Asari. Most probably, something as exotic as the Turians, imo, would be great. As mrsph said, Quarians shouldn't be conventionally beautiful. Their own brand, in other words. Some women found Turians attractive looking - the same can be done with Quarians without resorting to making them recolored humans.

She is an alien, Kal. They're supposed to look a strange from a human perspective.

Shepard gave that approving smile when he took off her mask, but I say Shepard is just a freak

The Drell (Thane specifically), where designed to be the male counterparts of asari for female gamers who wanted an alien romance that looked like an attractive human. (The women in the art department complained that men essentially get "hot women, painted blue" while they got a "scaled reptile-bird thing")

Legion already had his moment in the first teaser trailer.

I've always wanted to make Tali look as alien as possible. The asari were already a bit much on the human-likeness scale for my liking. Of course, there's that article where the developers describe creating Thane, where they pretty much admit that developing an attractive female interest for the guys was a bit more simplistic. I've always wondered if they could have gotten away with a design like the turians and still manage the pro-romantic fanbase that they did with Tali.

It's easy to go with 20/20 hindsight and say you'd like Tali no matter what she looks like, that it's a her personality that you love. You'll have to forgive me if I'm a bit skeptical in this regard.

Once upon a time, a friend and I speculated the light of the mask was actually an optic device. After Tali mentioned the lack of insect life, I speculated that all quarians had a fine layer of cilia on their bodies, essentially taking the role of such creatures like bees. When I figured their eyes were bioluminescent, I started thinking of Rannoch as actually being a relatively dimly-lit world. Not so much bioluminescent at this point, but eyes specifically designed to capture as much light as possible.

Even teeth I've taken a moment to consider. Their eyes are in a predator-dominant location, so they're at least omnivorous. How much so, I couldn't even begin to guess. Human incisors are meant to break, the molars are meant to chew. But the design of turian or batarian teeth imply they're designed to tear.

What can I say? Science fiction is an exercise in the bizarre for me. Perhaps I took too many courses in the implications of evolution on organic design.
