I want to see other characters like Tali, Kaidan, Jacob, Legion, Wrex, etc in the CG trailers. There was a bit of Garrus in one of the ME1 trailers, but I want to see him again in CGI.

Legion already had his moment in the first teaser trailer.

Wasn't CG though, unless I'm mistaken.

And honestly, the more human-like Tali's face is the creepier it will be due to how inhuman her body-structure is.

I know, but at least they're more alien than the Asari. Most probably, something as exotic as the Turians, imo, would be great. As mrsph said, Quarians shouldn't be conventionally beautiful. Their own brand, in other words. Some women found Turians attractive looking - the same can be done with Quarians without resorting to making them recolored humans.

I was making a funny. Drell are plenty alien for me.

I'm in denial that they'll show her face, but I have faith that what she looks like won't be Barbie.

@NC
No need, I've seen them. Any chance for hybrid babies is fine by me. If only I desired power...WHICH I DO!

I'd say the drell are a bit lazy in their alien-look. I mean cmon, they have a human nose!

I would have been pleasantly surprised if the developers had done anything with the neck inflation that drell are said to have. But I've seen him easily dismissed for looking alien enough for some players.

Why is that the second someone mentions that Tali might look like  Predator, that thing shows up? We mean that Tali could have a similar look, not a blatant rip-off.

I tend to think that all quarians have significant cybernetic enhancement to the level of at least Saren. When they would actually apply such enhancements throughout their life, I don't know, but I speculate it's when they get their first suit.

i know not EXACTLY like that but you people have to be realistic
i know her personality is just amazing, but to really be the perfect girl she has to be pretty too! i agree someone posted that turians look attractive to females and if bioware manged to pull that off with tali id be more than happy

Thane has got five fingers and a human-looking body, except that it's green.

After Tali mentioned the lack of insect life, I speculated that all quarians had a fine layer of cilia on their bodies, essentially taking the role of such creatures like bees.

Hah! Glad to see I'm not the only one who thought of this at one point. (Though I mentioned it as a hair analogue, which would look incredible, if you'd ask me (especially if it's the bioluminescent type))

Even teeth I've taken a moment to consider. Their eyes are in a predator-dominant location, so they're at least omnivorous. How much so, I couldn't even begin to guess. Human incisors are meant to break, the molars are meant to chew. But the design of turian or batarian teeth imply they're designed to tear.

From what we can tell, the quarian basic diet is pretty much entirely vegetarian. (Holding animals aboard their ships would be too much of a risk, take too much effort, and they'd consume too much food on their own)
But if they pass a world that has creatures of which the meat they could eat (or pass markets where such meat is sold), they do still eat this, it is considered a delicacy. (Incomplete sterilisation causing illness, or allergic reaction afterwards is considered somewhat like a hangover in our society, just as much part of the experience)

What can I say? Science fiction is an exercise in the bizarre for me. Perhaps I took too many courses in the implications of evolution on organic design.

Actually, I think Garrus is a classic example of how women will look at different characteristics of attractiveness than men. His voice is commonly mentioned as an attraction. His face has very symmetrical lines. His eyes are a piercing color. But if someone met a turian in real life, I think we have a case of getting to know the personality before physical attraction takes hold.

I've always wanted to make Tali look as alien as possible. The asari were already a bit much on the human-likeness scale for my liking. Of course, there's that article where the developers describe creating Thane, where they pretty much admit that developing an attractive female interest for the guys was a bit more simplistic. I've always wondered if they could have gotten away with a design like the turians and still manage the pro-romantic fanbase that they did with Tali.

It's easy to go with 20/20 hindsight and say you'd like Tali no matter what she looks like, that it's a her personality that you love. You'll have to forgive me if I'm a bit skeptical in this regard.

Dude. They did manage to take the turians and get the fanbase equivalent to Tali. Or close, rather, what with there being a slight deficiency in vocal women on this forum, but trust me: they're on the Garrus thread. They're also on deviantArt, Fanfiction.net, and if you've ever looked, roughly three-quarters of the masskink meme on LiveJournal.

One idea I had a while ago is that if her eyes were bioluminecent, that it would function much like a lantern fishes light; which actually ties in rather well with quarian leg structure seeming to indicate being derived from ambush predators (DAT POUNCE). This may also indicate that Rannoch is either kinda dark, or they're originally nocternal.

Of course, it's really easy to test this theory. Show of hands, who got lured in by the bright lights behind the mask? *raises hand*

If you're talking females, then Tali is the most alien-looking one on the Normandy since the only other female alien is Samara/Morinth.

You're saying males are more squeamish than females? *thinks of every fat rich guy who has a hot wife* ok, I'll give you that.

And I can't speak for everyone or even myself without bias in regards to liking Tali no matter what she looks like, but no doubt the fanbase wouldn't be as big. People did feell attracted to her body before they even considered her face, though, so maybe the theory "If they're ugly, focus on their smokin hot bod" could apply
And it's not too late to make quarians look like turians  I'm all for creating tidal waves.

Cmon Bioware!

Once upon a time, a friend and I speculated the light of the mask was actually an optic device. After Tali mentioned the lack of insect life, I speculated that all quarians had a fine layer of cilia on their bodies, essentially taking the role of such creatures like bees. When I figured their eyes were bioluminescent, I started thinking of Rannoch as actually being a relatively dimly-lit world. Not so much bioluminescent at this point, but eyes specifically designed to capture as much light as possible.

Even teeth I've taken a moment to consider. Their eyes are in a predator-dominant location, so they're at least omnivorous. How much so, I couldn't even begin to guess. I think their diet at this point is completely manufactured, designed simply to provide the nutritional needs of their bodies without too much concern of where it came from. Though I can imagine a market for those who provide such a diet while at least trying to inject the flavors that are desirable by quarian standards. Hmm, a diet that tastes like Reese's peanut butter cups all the time without the side effects of sugar overload...

Still, I think 300 years is too short a time for their evolution to actually eliminate the more omnivorous aspects of their design. Could be that they were more along the lines of fruitarians, though, as that is also another means of plant seed dispersal. Oh, but I'm sure advances in sewer design might have put a kink in that...

Anyway, still think the quarians like a good space cow steak now and then. Even my vegetarian friend hovers his nose over my steak to breathe in the aroma.
