Phil leaves once in awhile?
After trying to keep up with this thread, I'm sure you can see how so many never leave. Adding 2 more threads to my adventures has been hell.

Perhaps we should form an alliance to dismantle the hierarchy in this thread?

Well, I've heard from many that they're just showing up on this site because if this thread.
I also agree that it's more fun when the thread is not so serious.

The funny thing about Ashley and Tali is that if you hack Tali in early and use her on Horizon she will call her Ash. It also seems that those two at least had a friendly relationship.
Well, there is a case to be made for that. She doesn't seem to have anything personal against Garrus, Wrex, Tali, or Liara, and actually seems to get along with them just fine. Hell, on my last playthrough, she was the one insisting I should go outta my way to pick up Garrus. If anything, her misgivings about aliens seem to be more nationalist than racist, and she definitely makes it a point to remind Shepard about this, as well as call out the Terra Firma Party on it's bullsht. But yeah, I don't think she's really racist. She's nationalist. It just happens that the other nations in space are also different races.
Come to think of it, probably the most racially insensitive thing I've heard from an Alliance member was from Rear Admiral Mihalovick. You remember, the guy who inspected the Normandy? The 'paws, claws, tenticles' line?

In ME1, when you talk to Charles Saracino on the Citadel, and if you have Ashley and Tali with you, Ashley will defend Tali when Saracino insults aliens and she confirms a friendship between the two.
I think that the point with Ashley is that she was prejudiced. AS ME1 progresses her experiences fighthing at the side of the aliens changes this.
It is part of the whole ME universe "alien race relations" tensions. There is a lot of hate between different species. It is a central theme... as are these races joining together to fight a greater evil.

I've been fiddling with rough sketches (we're talking stick figure quality), and I've been wondering why the male quarians have such a large tube projecting from the back of their heads while the females didn't. I'd like to think there was something similar hidden under the hoods, but obviously not to the scale we see with the men.
I would assume the females have them too, since you can't see that part due to the veil. They're probably just cabled differently as not to make the veil stick out.

Honestly I think Ashley is just saving grace. She thought she could let out her rampant human racism to Shepard only to be stone-walled and has been looking for a way to undig herself out of her hole.

Tali apparently likes to get on every human female's good side. Even Kelly's.
Everyone on the Normandy seems to like Tali (she is even the only person Joker is happy to see return). Probably because she is generally friendly and not insane like the rest of the people Shepard picks up during his travels. Also being a quarian probably just makes her more sociable than everyone else.
Even Pressley came around to liking Tali.

Perhaps there are a bunch of small tubes inside the large one.

I think the costume came out very well. Wonder if she's walking around in that costume on the convention floor today. If the guy is walking around with the Grunt costume, props for that, 'cause I think I'd faint after 30 minutes in that thing.

Tali has that scarf over the backside of her helmet. Male Quarians do not. Except for Veetor. I think..
OR..Maybe those tubes are actually special shafts that houses the multiple Male Quarian reproductive organs located somewhere at the back of the Male Quarian's head.

I would have believed that had she made the issue with Garrus and Wrex about them being tied to the Citadel/Turian Hierarchy or the Krogan tribes respectively, or better yet that they were not part of the Alliance. But she did not. Instead, the dialog was specifically structured around them being aliens.Well, there is a case to be made for that. She doesn't seem to have anything personal against Garrus, Wrex, Tali, or Liara, and actually seems to get along with them just fine. Hell, on my last playthrough, she was the one insisting I should go outta my way to pick up Garrus.
