my views on tali are a little fuzzy from before i was talindoctrinated.

I know how you feel. I have a hard time differentiating between what I initially thought about Tali and what I picked up from this thread. I know I liked her voice, personality, and basic appearance, but I think the fascination with her hips is something I acquired from this place.

i always had a habit of checking out asses in elevators though so i appreciated the hips back then.

Well damn this just hit me after thinking of Heart of Darkness. One of the main Reasons that i found Tali so appealing is because her character is Pure. That darkness that i get a sense of from most of the other squad mates just isn't there. Any one else notice this?

Absolutely such things are rare enough in good stories that dont over flow with cheese much less in real life. Tis most refreshing. Especially considering what she has potentially been through.

That's not why I like her. Tali is NOT pure. She's a second class citizen in a galaxy that hates her. Her mother died from disease, her father never said he loved her. She was pushed to meet inpossible demands, pushed to be the best her people had, and then used and betrayed at their convinience. Tali has had it HARD, and there is definately some bitterness and darkness in there.

What makes Tali amazing is that despite EVERYTHING, she's still a good person. She tries. She does the right thing as often as she can. She smiles through it all, finding ways to joke and get through it, and doesn't complain. She's still sweet, and kind, and adorable. THAT'S why I like her so much. She takes everything that's thrown at her, and keeps going, as determined as before, and often with a smile in her voice.

Shepard went to Jack, but she was too small. Shepard went to Miranda, and she was too big. Shepard went to Tali, and she was JUST RIGHT. :wizard:

What struck me the most is the fact that the underlying lesson in that novel is: When you take a person who is constantly told how to react in society out of said society they "Revert" to more "Primal" instintcs.

So naturally with Quarians being as confined to each others company and their own suits, and always having to worry about the saftey of everyone else all the time one could logically assume that when taken out of that enviroment they would revert to those darker emotions and ways of thinking.
With Tali however there is no sense of this happening at all.

Well I don't mean to gloat but my Shepard is blind and simply followed the beautiful voice in front of the kind personality.

I still wish you could "Renegade" and "Paragon" more characters in 3. You could do it a bit with Garrus, Ash, and Kaiden, but I'd like to see it more fleshed out.

Kinda what I meant, yes she has had her trials and tribulations, but she has largely overcome them and maintained a small degree of inosence. Especially when compared to the other character LIs and none LIs alike. People can walk through fire and endure unimaginable turmoil and still be pure of heart, granted it is not absolute purity such a thing is beyond all of us.

Sure... Samara's are bigger... but so what? That makes them better? Tali's are a bit more petite, but still round, and I gotta say, that push up bra belt thing does wonders for them.

DO. WANT.

Much as I talk about her body, I'm still only really interested in Tali for her personality. Same with Garrus. They're your family. They'd do anything for you, and they've proven it. With you from the start, and to the end. ^_^
