Yeah I noticed that...wonder if they have like tiny or dysfunctional hands and operate the mechanical "fingers" from from levers. And I've seen fanart of Volus where those hangy things on their faces are actually appendages. It might make sense only because the things themselves are thick enough IMO, but they look more like a design choice.
Agree. It's strikingly different from the female helmets. I wonder if there's some sexual dimorphism with male heads as well.
And unlike the volus' "hangy things on their faces", the helmet jawline on quarians looks a bit too thin. I'm not discounting there may be something behind that, but the idea that the jawline is housing appendages seems off to me.
