The Imperium is even worse than Cerberus. They want to wipe out anything that isn't human.

That is the imperium as a whole, and largely with good reason as far as 40k aliens are concerned, but some marine chapters are more tolerant than others and other elements of the Imperium. Granted the inquisition frowns on this, putting it extreamly mildly, but them and the mechanicus are largely racist hypocrites any way.

Correct. Stripper clips, etc.

Magazine: part of the gun.

Clip: not part of the gun.

I don't know why there is ANY recoil at all in the weapons in mass effect. They're rail guns. All of them. There shouldn't be any at all because magnets are propelling the round not an explosive. So there should be zero recvoil because nothing is pushing back on the weapon.
