How about an in-character reason why Shepard didn't express his feelings for Tali in ME1?

Maybe he didn't think she would be attracted to humans. Maybe he was afraid of putting her in danger.  Or maybe he was blinded by her mask, and didn't even think about the person under it until ME2. 

This could be, mystique has its good and bad sides, if you dont show some interest it can be a complete put off, but it only takes the smallest amount and you will be hooked.

See, the cuttlefish design makes a lot of sense for Reapers. Since their entire existence is in the form of a large ship, it makes sense that they'd want "arms."

Not to mention, their rounded "shell" provides a significant defensive bonus. Not only are curved surfaces stronger than flat surfaces, a curved surface greatly increases the chance that solid projectiles will glance.

Love is supposed to be something that doesnt happen with suicide missions so it does make a lot of sense dont it? That and if he had a sense of direction when it comes to love it would be too easy getting Tali and you wouldnt get to see her stumble over herself

If I ever get around to writing that ME3 speculation fic, I've decided to have a single Reaper be allied to Shepard.

It's kinda cliche,, but I know exactly how it'll happen, and I think it'll be believable. (No, it doesn't involve them reprogramming a reaper or anything like that!).
