hey ppl...much tali love going on?
Not right now unfortunately. The thread is incredibly slow right now...
Sounds like enough of an excuse to repost something:
*Shepard's in his cabin, going through old photos on his terminal. He eventually stops on one Tali in the human embassy.*
Shepard: *to self* Now if I remember this datestamp correctly, this is the day I met her...
Tali: And if I remember that timestamp correctly, I'd just told you why my pilgrimage compelled me to go with you.
*Shepard reels around in suprise. Tali stands tall, one hand on her hip.*
Shepard: Kasumi teach you a little something about sneaking into rooms?
Tali: Not much didn't know already... getting nostalgic?
Shepard: *spins his chair back to the screen* A little. They were good times.
*A comfortable silence falls over the couple. Tali starts rubbing Shepard's shoulders when he starts again.*
Shepard: Something I've always wondered... what's with the right arm of this suit?
Tali: *stops rubbing and tilts head* I haven't thought about that thing in forever... do you remember when I told you how I got that geth memory core?
Shepard: *playful sarcasm* Now why would I remember a story like that? It's not like my whole career didn't hinge on it or anything.
Tali: Bosh'tet. That arm was part of the geth I took that core from. It was... a trophy, I suppose. *wistfully* Until then, it was the most impressive thing I'd ever done...
Shepard: And now?
*Tali releases Shepard and fishes an object out of a pouch on her left arm and drops it on his desk.*
Tali: This is what's left of the block of ammunition I shot Saren with...
*Shepard picks up the block and turns it over in his hands.*
Shepard: *feels the weight* Armor-piercing.
Tali: There were a lot of geth before him.
*Shepard finally turns around the block to the larger flat surface and spots the engraving. "N7". Tali wraps her arms around him again.*
Tali: A lot of quarians change their suits after their pilgrimage, to further emphasize the shedding of a childhood and a transformation into adulthood. I got rid of the geth arm, but that block... that block hasn't left my side in two years.
*Shepard, the consummate diplomat, is temporarily without words. At long last, he carefully places her keepsake back into her suit pocket.*
Shepard: The man who gave you that block isn't going to leave either. Not as long as you can put up with me.
*Tali moves one arm to her helmet and unclasps her faceplate, then gives Shepard a quick peck on the cheek before replacing the faceplate.*
Tali: I know.
