I see what you're saying. The trick is not not give in to those thoughts and let them stop you from working, I suppose. My god, the number of times I've almost trashed my stories is beyond count.

What CC says is the important point.  You can listen to the self-recrimination all you want, but you have to ignore the "it's not fit to be seen" part that inevitably comes up.

I looked back and saw Jones' suggestion of "Amazonian Tali". I don't think I'll do exactly what was in his suggestion, but it does seem like an interesting starting point. I can already see the setting in my head, the opening events unfolding. Now all I have to do is put it all into words. Preferably in a sequence similar to proper English.

My earliest memory of you is when you established yourself as an animu anime fan to a troll. He made some imbecilic comment about how Talimancers never get laid, then you mentioned you're a father.

The words are all there, my friend. You just need to find what order they go in.

Like anything, the more you write, the better you'll get. Also, you'll find things are much easier after you find your 'voice'.
The way I write is different from Nuke, which is different from Red, which is different from Jones, and so on and so forth. Your style will probably be different too.
