You kidding? Rael was going to have a viable virus in less than a year. Taking that research, Xen could get one of her own in no time. Xen's also more concerned with fleet safety than Rael. She seems more like the kind of person who would get it done right, making sure every last loophole is closed. Also remember that the quarians built the geth. They know more about them than anyone. It is entirely feasible to assume they are capable of doing this. They WERE doing it before the experiments blew up in Raels face.

Those were WEAPONS TESTS, not viruses. Pay attention.

Also, the only way Xen gets the data is if you give it to her. Which is unacceptable.

Ugh. Tali and Gerrel THOUGHT they were weapons tests. Rael was actually networking them to sapience to perform cybernetic hacking attempts, trying to build a cyberweapon that could turn the geth to their side. Replay the level and watch the audio logs if you dont' believe me.

Indeed.

that depens on the geth finding out about it, Cerberus did it in overlord sent a message to geth and they didn't even know it was a trap.

As I said, it would be nearly impossible to hack the geth without attacking first.

I guess you're right but still there's a chance even if it's small.

I would never chose to brainwash the geth to serve the quarians.

Even so, you'd have to give the data to Xen. Which, again, is unacceptable.

Damn. You don't have to be so hostile about it.

Or, she can, you know...go to the Alarei and look after small fractions of data there. Which she does.

Some of you might hate me for what I'm about to say, but...

Seriously, I can see why the quarians utterly lost the Morning War. They can't even take back one of their own ships from a very small network of geth. Their ability to not only create a virus capable of reclaiming the geth, but being able to effectively use it, looks very, very slim. Maybe Rael did come up with something workable, but can you seriously see it not utterly backfiring in the most spectacular way possible if they actually tried to use it against the greater geth collective?

It's like painting a bullseye on yourself.

Like you said, fractions. It would take a while to complete the data. Especially on her own.

And if she was found out she'd be deemed a war criminal like Rael would have.

I agree Kikai. It's far too implausible for the Quarians to be able to do that. Especially considering how much they are living under poverty.

Nevermind the fact that despite working on some kind of uberweapon, the Alarei got taken over anyway, so whatever "success" they were having obviously wasn't even remotely successful.

Granted, I think the whole Alarei thing is idiotic to begin with as far as plot goes. Geth delete their own runtimes if there's a chance of being captured. What the hell was that network running off of in the first place? There wouldn't have been any actual geth runtimes to use.

When do you give the data to Xen? Please. Tell me when this happens. It doesn't matter if you Rally the Crowd, withold the data, Paragon or Renegade, or even present the data to the admiralty board, she STILL sends you the EXACT same e-mail, telling you she went through Raels Research on the Alerai, and that she's going to use it to re-enslave the geth. Your choices here do not matter in relation to the Geth/Quarian problem. This is just setting it up. What happens in 3, whether you side with Xen then, who will have the weapon no matter what you did in past playthroughs, is what determines if you reclaim the geth  for the quarians, make peace, or possibly send them off to full scale war.

I'm not condoning any option, each has their merits and drawbacks, but please don't make it sound like I don't know what's going on.

I have only seen a few clips (mostly about the jokes) from that show and most say I find it boring.

Nothing to say about the fact that Xen would most likely be found out and deemed a war criminal?

Hell, Tali would have had to have been the most amazing idiot in the galaxy to send geth material back to the Flotilla that had viable runtimes still in it, because viable runtimes would mean it had the capacity of spontaneously reactivating.

What were they testing their stuff on?

Unless it worked.

Do you honestly think if the quarians had a way of retaking their world, defeating the geth, and doing it in a manner that requires not a single quarian life, they wouldn't take it?

Irregardless, the topic is irrelevent. What we think doesn't matter. Only what Bioware does with it in 3 is what counts, we we'll just have to wait until then.

I was thinking the same thing
I actualy think in the Quarian Geth argument the geth are right who says they would have attacked. they might of just asked to be freed from them, unless I don't pay attention to legion enough, meh I can't believe I am siding with the geth

A war criminal that defeated the geth, retook the homeworld, and didn't lose a single quarian life.

She'd be seen as a hero. She'd be the victor, and history is always written by the victor.
