I don't know. Still a work in progress.

You don't need to worry about that. Think back to ME1.

Which squad member had an important role in ME1? None of them did, with a couple very minor exceptions: Tali, giving you the evidence, and Liara, revealing Ilos. Garrus, Ashley, Kaiden, Wrex... none of them had large roles in ME1 at all, aside from like where you first meet them or a decision you had to make.

What I'm getting at, is that the squad members will be "interchangeable" to whatever is going on in ME3, just like they were in ME1 (I'm assuming ME3 will be more "main story"-centric, unlike ME2, which is why I use ME1 as an example).

Maybe people (like Wrex) have important roles later on? Like how Wrex is uniting the clans?
Ash and Kaiden, not so sure...

I gotcha, I just assumed that she couldn't have a role in importance during the game if she wasn't in for some, but I see what you mean about importance being interchangable per character..well in that case I guess she'll be the most important character in the game. ( Not that she isn't already ;) )

Amen!

i like how garrus put it:

"Nobody wants to follow you, half of us don't even trust you"  :Dgo garrus

That line is so good that its almost worth killing Jack to hear, and I really like Jack :?

It isn't even that I hate Miranda, because I don't, I just really wish there was an option to tell her to shut up when she acts like she's so much better than everyone else, when she's largely the same.

Bah, I like Miranda. Still isn't as good a leader as she thinks she is. Maybe she's just not good in a firefight, the Lazarus Project being a success at least lends evidence for her being a good administrator.

Well, she trusts Shepard and (if you take her to the Human-Reaper fight) she leaves Cerberus to run with Shepard.
Loyal to Shepard, if you ask me.

Soo less dialogue for all squaddies, romances might even be lessened, all because they could die and because this is the last game of the trilogy and because they already had their individual spotlights via loyalty missions.

So ME3 = pew pew :(

Just something to think about, What is going to happen to Tali, I mean they cannnot make her an important role in the next game due to the fact that some people had her die, so she can't have a MAIN story role. I just hope this doesn't mess it up for us though. I image in ME3 finding a quarian homeworld and having a house with Tali? LOL THAT"BE AWESOME>

Same applied to ME2, really. The only squad members that really have a somewhat main-story type role are Miranda (as head of the lazarus project) and maybe mordin (for his defense against the seeker swarms).
At the end of the day, the main-story characters are whomever you choose them to be. Those who's loyalty you've gained, who've upgraded the Normandy's systems, and the one you've chosen (or dispicably, not chosenImage IPB) as your LI. Really, the main-story squad mates are those that we spend the most time with. I very much doubt they'll change that formua for ME3

They made Garrus awsome in ME2, there's no doubt about that, I cant say I cared much for his attitude in ME1.

The problem with the loyalty argument is that she was billed as a loyalist coming into ME2.  Loyal to Cerberus that is.  By the end of the game she's completely turned on them, when they do nothing in the story aside from help her sister.  If she turned on Cerberus that quick, why should I trust her?  How do I know she won't turn around and be loyal to another cause later?

Give her time. I'm sure she really cares about the entire squad, even if her leadership style begs to differ.

Dude, the shooter stuff was awesome. They just need to keep the character stuff and they're golden.

I think they'll go all out for the final game in the trilogy. If a character could have survived they'll get a kick butt story and epilogue. The LI especially are going to get a lot of work done on them, even if the majority of them can die.
