I can't speak for anyone else, but personally I didn't think of Tali in a romantic way until I had that one "she wants to be more then friends" conversation with Kelly, and even then I didn't think to much of it until I was talking to Tali. But I will admit that I did find myself stareing at her faceplate back in ME1 thinking "she's actually more attractive with the mask then most women are"

But really, in ME1 I found myself romancing Ash most of the time simply because it was there, not because I liked the character. In ME2 I would have probably done the same thing with Miranda had Tali not found my button labeled "melt hear" and pushed it.

Ok, that I can actually understand. I had never been on forums till personally and figured "Hy Tali thread" may be insightful and so far it has been, met people like you and seirgo who always have insight onto some opinion and well thought out replies to everything asked. Personally I do like slower romances, but when they speed it up I try not to take it for granted and suck it up, if I like the character, which I love tali, she just seems precious to me. It isnt really the look of her that I prefer, but how she is a harden marine, but is still sensative about the deeper thought things.

At least, this is my preference. I will go with what i'm given, unless something like DA:A happens in ME3 I will ****ing rage and all will feel my wrath.

This part I highlighted, however, I do not agree with. You cannot shut down anothers opinions based on your own opinions. Which I find rather odd about you... You have what seems to be great insight and then you pull something that is rather... Ignorant.

Do you even realize how fast-paced everything is in Mass Effect? Here's an example:

Shepard: "Are you saying you want to join us?"
Legion: "Yes"
Shepard: "Alright, I trust you, let's give you a name".

All the romances are fast-paced as well, but you are right, nothing in ME1 gave an indication of Tali having a crush. She wasn't nervous or anything, she was friendly like a Quarian on Pilgrimage receiving help. If she had a crush, she'd be stammering and wringing her hands when you talked to her.

Fanservice or not, there's no reason Tali couldn't have grown a strong bond with you over the course of a month (remember, we're keeping in mind the timescale of Mass Effect, you searched for Saren for what, 3 months? It felt like a week, if that), so considering how fast everyone else trusts you in Mass Effect, Tali developing into a LI in ME2 much like Garrus was a pleasant change. It's good for the story.

I respect your opinion of "some" of the fan base's obsession. Sometimes things need to be at the end of line (I won't go down the list, but fapfics is right up there somewhere), and I also feel disconcerted at the simple Talimancers who I think seriously only like "dem hips" and only post "dem hips" and need real life help. I am attached to the Quarians and the Geth and everything in Mass Effect, and Tali and Jack are the only romances I can tolerate, because for all the plot holes that you pointed out, she is a good romance.

And there are plenty of sophisticated people that get into long discussions of Quarian biology, history, and culture, this is the main appeal of Mass Effect, Tali included.  I can appreciate curves when I see them, but that's not why I'm here.

Just don't generalize, ya know? I wasn't around when Tali Love was here, I found the romance realistic.

Well here was my thought on it:

What if before they began this 'cycle' they saw/discovered something that is worse than them? What if they are making the best possible reapers in order to combat this thing? They kill all of life quickly right? What if whatever they see coming will not be so nice?
