But for real, quarians are vaguely (and briefly) described in Ascension. Otherwise, it's all speculative. At least with turians we have a bit of a codex entry.

When I first saw that picture of Tali and Legion, I wasn't sure about it because it almost seemed to imply some kind of romance.



However, I read the the artist's comment, and (s)he said it was about them being putting their differences aside, and becoming "BFFs"

To be fair, if you looked at the listed traits for all races, without seeing a picture, quarians would probably be the most likely to have hair besides humans.  On top of that, there is a good chance that Tali will be made to look attractive to humans (there are no ugly video game characters unless its intentional,) and that means hair.  And people in general want Tali to be attractive, and most like hair, and draw her as such.  I'm not saying they will have hair, and if you prefer no hair that's fine, but there is plenty of reason for most fanart to have hair.

Quarians having hair could also be a reason that aliens don't find human's hair weird (they never mention it in game at least.)  If everyone has gotten to used to quarians having hair, seeing it again with humans wouldn't be anything special.

Apparently the devs have said batarians and humans are the only races with hair, but for some reason I have yet to find said confirmation, yet it's often said that they do not have hair. I really don't care if quarians have hair or not, but I think the devs really need to do something to make the quarians look more aliens. Having a nearly identical human torso but with elongated legs and three fingered hands would really clash with how human that they may look. Hair is a very tertiary feature, a simple way to make something appear less human is to remove hair. Also take into account that hair will not grow in certain conditions, wearing the suit all the time will likely damper hari growth.

I wouldn't say that wearing the suits is likely to hamper hair growth.  Too many variables there.  We don't know how quarians may grow hair differently than humans, we don't know that the suits would be restrictive to it even for a human, maybe they're even made to accomodate it.

I would still argue that with a few small nuances (ears, eyes, skin,) a Tali with hair could look alien enough, especially when you factor in the differences we already know.  That's all preference though.  My worry about getting rid of hair is that it isn't a small change.  That's going from human-like to completely alien, to the point that some people may be repulsed.  Asari have hair like ridges that ease the transition, quarians just being bald will make them look very alien, not slightly.
