It's important to note that these are aliens, they don't need to follow every attribute that mammals typically have. Hell, Asari are pretty much humans with tentacles, and they don't have hair.

I wouldn't say that wearing the suits is likely to hamper hair growth.  Too many variables there.  We don't know how quarians may grow hair differently than humans, we don't know that the suits would be restrictive to it even for a human, maybe they're even made to accomodate it.

I would still argue that with a few small nuances (ears, eyes, skin,) a Tali with hair could look alien enough, especially when you factor in the differences we already know.  That's all preference though.  My worry about getting rid of hair is that it isn't a small change.  That's going from human-like to completely alien, to the point that some people may be repulsed.  Asari have hair like ridges that ease the transition, quarians just being bald will make them look very alien, not slightly.

But the thing is that quarians are aliens, there needs to be something more than just different limbstructure to detract from looking human. My belief is that they should not look too human, or else we may get another asari race, the asari are supposed to appeear the most human-looking race, the quarians should not appear too human, or else it would be contesting the asari. The batarians had it find because other than physiology, they look very alien, four eyes, weird noses. Simply adding hair does add a lot more to the human image than most people would think, that is why I am not so sure that they should have hair.

It really does seem like his voice acting is generally better with Tali. "Captain's orders", "I don't want anyone else" Pretty much everything during the trial, "You don't have to share me", etc. <3
