Ah well, I like to look at glass of Florida OJ as half full. Some pros to this:

• "4" is a much cooler, sexier number than "3"
• First post can be updated now.
• Maybe people will leave us alone for the time being, since they won't see a big ol' number next to our thread.

Bullets 2 and 3 are good, but bullet 1 is false.  Four is the number of death.

I think perhaps more humility should be in order.  They can easily do the same here.

Nothing will change just because a 3 turned into a 4.  If you didn't like the last thread, you won't like this one.  Its that simple. 

That said, I have to disagree with not being able to have a decent discussion most of the time.  Its easiest during low traffic times, but its certainly possible at other times when the thread is going faster.  You just have to be able to skip through and ignore a lot of extra posts.
