So, I know a few people were contesting the theory that BioWare was beind those posts.
Seeing their attention to detail, special account names, and consistent in-character writing I couldn't imagine anyone but BioWare pulling it off.
Does anyone have any other theories of who it might have been?  

Or theories as to what exactly their purpose was coming to this particular thread (besides giving us an awesome show).

There were Rumors of a dlc, which is why they were doing it. But I highly doubt this.
