I'm pretty much convinced it is from Bioware. There simply no way a non-Bioware party could have registered like 20 Mass Effect character names, all extremely recently. There's just no way.

The posts are all spot on and perfectly written, and the poster is obviously very proficient in the ME universe; I suspect it's one of Bioware's writers.

Last night Patrick Weekes got suggested by riptide (i think that's his name?), since he has history of posting on Bioware boards and apparently the signatures are in-line with his style of humor.

im still saying it has to be some user or users. Why would Bioware just come in and start this. doesn't make sense to me.

There were Rumors of a dlc, which is why they were doing it. But I highly doubt this.

It seemed like Romance DLC at first, but then it seemed like they were just doing it for shiggles....

Yeah, that's very true. With only a couple exceptions, nearly everyone got a huge kick out of it.

Plus this thread gives them the single-biggest audience without creating a new thread.

Yeah, but the explanation for that wasn't bad. He made a good point with the Kasumi Goto example too (that it should technically be "Goto Kasumi").

Big deal.  She calls herself Kasumi Goto and her lover Keiji Okuda (not Okuda Keiji) in game.  Seems that Japanese convention or not that's her name.  But the game actually uses "Urdnot Wrex" and "Urdnot Grunt."

I could see it as not being a BioWare employee if not for the account names.

I can almost guarantee you...if I tried to register an account right now under the name <any character's name>1 it would already be taken, because people love to name stuff after their favorate character.  And yet these account names had no numbers after them...they were the real names, and many were registered within the last few days.
