Be an optimist Buddha, there will be no orphans, the whole galaxy will be one big happy place :wizard:

Ok, i'm a bad liar :crying:

Tali and Shepard are both orphans. Unless you're a Spacer. Which, oddly enough, most of my Shepards are...

Earthborn FTW.  He can't understand family, but he can understand deprivation.

Colonist here. Experienced the exact same thing Tali did on the Alarei.

I was thinking of how absurd a shepard-tali baby would be... what would it even eat when it would be born?

Please don't make me turn this into a biology discussion...

Chirality makes it impossible.

I Know. I just don't understand how some people can even consider it viable...

And there are likely to be plenty of orphans before this is over.

Sadly true.

Now I need to write something about this.

"Daddy, why does mom always wear a mask and you don't?"

"Daddy, can I come out of the bubble?  I've been really good."

"Daddy, can I have a hug?"

F- this, I'm tearing up.

Your too right, Buddha Image IPB

*walks away Eeyore-like*

Why do I do this to myself?  I'm going home and giving my kid a hug.

I would hate kids in Mass effect anyway. Human or not. There's a reason why bioware didn't put them in ME. They were annoying in KOTOR.

"Your one of them Sith aren't you? My momma told me not to talk to you."
Their grammar was terrible. Luckily tou didn't have to deal with any more kids once you left Taris.

Not an actual aunt. Figurative aunt. Notice that her clan name isn't the same as Tali's.

The kids in Fallout 3 are worse... but that's not for here.

So, that was a quarian ship on Korlus. Any ideas as to what it might have been doing there?

The Migrant Fleet can be seen flying through the atmosphere of Korlus. A few of the vessels are shown releasing something, presumably waste and/or discharge onto the planet.

Tali's not really an orphan in the sense that most people mean. I mean, eventually, all of us lose our parents. It's if we lose them as children that we're orphans. So no, Tali, while having a strained relationship with her father, isn't really an orphan. And if I remember correctly, her mother also lived to see her reach adulthood.

It is interesting though that every Shepard except spacer!Shepard is an orphan though. Fittingly, the Shepard I romanced Tali with is a spacer (my other two Sheps fit the other backgrounds).

I'll also second others in citing that adoption would be an adequate substitute for biological children. In fact, I'd have to roll my eyes at the latter as it would diverge rather unnecessarily into one of the most silly tropes in science fiction in general - human/alien crossbreeding. It makes my brain hurt.

She's close enough to family, I figure.  I'm not disputing that Tali's an orphan.

Most everything about quarians is a tearjerker. The sympathy I had for them and the emotion of the Morning Wars is why I was drawn to them and the geth and Tali in the first place.

But I've said it before, the sympathetic love turns into like a comradery..and you no longer feel above them, but beside them because we're all struggling just in different ways.

:crying: *runs to bed and throws himself into a pillow and cries*
