On my hardcore / insanity runs for the reaper derelict, I always bring the 'Dream Team' aka Tali and Garrus.

Tali's drone and Garrus' AP ammo both helps to both distract and shred the husks while you and Garrus lay down rapid fire / sniper fire while Tali takes care of those surviving / close to you and Garrus.

Positioning / team member placement rules in hardcore / insanity mode.

 Another Minific.  Had trouble getting something out of Zaheed's most memorable line, but I'm tired... so here it is:

Zaheed glared at nothing in particular,‭ ‬his eyes alight with contempt.‭“‬Rage can be a hell of an anesthetic.‭”
His comment was followed by silence,‭ ‬until Tali let slip a slight giggle.‭  ‬Zaheed turned on the quarian,‭ ‬getting within inches of her visor before yelling,‭ “‬What is so funny‭?”
Tali fought to remain composure,‭ ‬but a second giggle broke burst from her voice modulator.‭  ‬The grizzled mercenary that stood in front of her nearly shook with anger.‭  ‬Finally,‭ ‬she collected herself enough to respond.
‭“‬You were shot.‭  ‬In the face.‭ ‬And rage kept you alive‭?”  ‬Taking a step back,‭ ‬she dismissed that hypothesis with a wave of a three fingered hand.‭  “‬My people have a word for that,‭ ‬Zaheed:‭  ‬Bosh'tet.‭”
Upon hearing this,‭ ‬even Shepard could not hold back a chortle.

I managed to one shot the core with my femshep Miri (soldier) run with a Cain blast. I didn't have to figth more then the first wave of husks. Was awesome. (hardcore)
