I agree, I'd like Tali to look more alien than the Asari. That doesn't mean she has to be unattractive, I just want the Quarians to be more unique, because the Asari already have the "near-human" title. One of my favorite interpretations is this:

The mask, like others have said, was probably loosened because she planned on revealing her face to Shepard that night.

Well this would probably apply more to kal'reegar but: In combat, movements aren't exactly...smooth usually. They would need to secure it so that the mask would not come off from a nearby explosion, accidentaly bumping it, etc.

Have you ever worn a gasmask before? They don't come off easily, so I am sure that a mask such as the quarians use would not come off by simply jostling it.

What gives you impression that there isn't? If you're talking about the bartender, she's basically just saying "no one remembers what the Quarians look like" figuratively.

Not just the bartender, although that's part of it.
I'm also going off of what that quarian girl in Illum was saying when she was repeating what her ex was saying to her, something along the lines of "'Oooh! I wonder what she looks like under her helmet'"

Now, I suppose that could be about her specifically, but I always got the impression that what quarians look like is this. . .big mystery now.
Or maybe I just think that because we don't know.
Not sure.

It's pretty much inconceivable that the extranet would not have it. The extranet has been around for thousands of years. The Quarians did not begin to live in suits until 300 years ago.

I must disagree.  The forehead nostrils are especially upsetting.  The sickly color makes sense, but that kind of contradicts with Tali's personality.
