Was on up till 1 a.m. central, but from 10-12:30 I was working on my fanfic, didnt look like they stopped by then. nobody said anything when I got on at 6 this morning.

There are quite a few fuel tanks on the second level. If you shoot them first, anyone on the second level will, um, not be there anymore.

I always found that in Mass effect, there were bizarre happenings like this in combat. Enemies were alway getting stuck on objects, dying for no reason, not realizing that I'm unloading a shotgun into their head, etc... And on anything but the very upper difficulties, it's very, very easy to wipe out a whole room of enemies with a few well-placed grenades or fuel tank detonations. It's probably a glitch.
