I've even got a man-crush on him.

Oh yeah, every woman (and possibly man) has a crush on him. Human, Asari, Turian, KROGAN, batarian... you get the idea.

Physically attractive, treats her like an equal in ME1 while others look down on her, takes her on an amazing journey, always there for her when she needs him, stands beside her when others don't.  First builds a strong friendship and trust that turns into romantic feelings.  Being a human isn't much of a factor really.  *Add cliche about love.

Something like that, I don't know, it seems pretty obvious to me.  I'd be more interested in how Tali could possibly not develop feelings for Shepard over the span of ME.

well shep saved her on the citadel (ok we all know she was going to obliterate the turian and his salarian friends... but well)

he also saved the galaxy (ok Tali can solo saren at the citadel no prob... but well)

he gave her the geth data

he also defended her at the process

... and Adam now is dead
