The Second Minific (Slightly Expanded)
Zaheed glared at nothing in particular, his eyes alight with contempt.“Rage can be a hell of an anesthetic.”
His comment was followed by silence, until Tali let slip a slight giggle. Zaheed turned on the quarian, getting within inches of her visor before yelling, “What is so funny?”
Tali fought to remain composure, but a second giggle broke burst from her voice modulator. The grizzled mercenary that stood in front of her nearly shook with anger. Finally, she collected herself enough to respond.
“You were shot. In the face. And rage kept you alive?” Taking a step back, she dismissed that hypothesis with a wave of a three fingered hand. “My people have a word for that, Zaheed: Bosh'tet.”
Zaheed was fuming now, his damaged eye twitching with rage. Tali, however, wasn’t done. “And, if I remember correctly, the Council have a reaction to a claim such as yours. They dismiss it.”
Upon hearing this, even Shepard could not hold back a chortle.
