I typically use Sheploo, I've just grown used to seeing that face as Shepard.

Sheploo? Sorry I don't know anything about Mass Effect just what's on the game, and I didn't read any codexes.

A lot of people like to make their own character, but I went with the premade as well.

The way I see it, Mass Effect is more of a 3rd person narrative than most other RPGs, so I don't really care about customizing Shepard. Plus the male model they used for the default Shep is a better looking guy than anything I'll make.

There's nothing wrong with default Shep.  I wouldn't call him cute (obviously,) but I've yet to see a custom Shep that was half as good.  For some reason its a lot easier to make good looking femSheps than maleSheps.

And I'm probably stepping on a joke thats over my head, but has Jake done something aside from posting mildly offensive pictures that still adhere to forum rules?

I literally spend like 45 minutes before I start a file trying to make a character that looks like me.
Kind of sad, I know.  But they always look so much more handsome and dashing than the default.

Yeah, I feel the same way about the default Shepard. I really don't see anything wrong with him. I'm very much straight, but I don't see how anyone can argue the guy's looks
