That's the price of majority. People get dissassociated. Pretty soon, infighting erupts. I didn't want to see that happen to this fandom, so I decided to devote myself to it. If we can maintain solidarity, we can avoid destruction.

Well no other character thread has 1/5th the amount of people either.  The difference is understandable to me.

Not really. This is the only thread that daily has rule34 discussion and pictures posted. It's not humanly impossible not to have this every single day. Granted, it's basically just the same people over and over, but it really makes me wish for a block button that actually blocks people.

Well, no other character thread is this massive.

It's like saying that this tiny African village doesn't have the same crime rate as New York City.
More people will always equal more problems, but it's the kind of thing that can be ignored or worked through.
Besides, it's not like it happens all day every day. And good thing, too. I don't think anyone would be left if it did.

Today was pretty bad, most of what I saw earlier today  (around 10 eastern time) was about rule34. That stuff is what pisses me off more than anything.

10 am? ok then I really do miss it. luckly for me.

Tali's character kind of spurs that on, too.  When you hide something, people are going to rip it off.  And proceed to have  with it.

It does as far as I can tell. The same people who post rule34 and troll the thread post seem to post just about every day. If we steered away from the rule34 talk, this thread would be great. But as it is, it often devolves.

Tonight wasn't any worse than the other nights. I laughed a bit, but one thing they all have in common is raging fanbois acting clingy. Plenty of people were just making the average zinger quote to the RPers, then people get reeeeally emotional.



Seriously, need to take a break maybe.



And speaking of breaks, haven't played ME2 in a month. I'm not suggesting you take that long of a break, but I am cravin some gaming like a mofo. This thread and many other things are distracting.



Infinite depth in sci-fi, so I don't think it's gunna get old anytime fast, especially since the final game hasn't been released.



I am very fortunate to be 20 years old in this age and time.

Short of banning those people or telling them they are no longer welcome, I don't know how to stop that. Not that I'm suggesting that, either. It could easily shift into a schism in the fandom.

Why does it make you angry? There isn't very much of it on Tali, and about three peices that are more then MS paints quality, probably because her character type doesn't atract sexual deviants.

Just did a search on Garrus however, now that is someone who seems to attract sexual deviants.

And yes, I've been desensitized to rule 34 years ago, side effect of my past time on the chans.

I hear plenty about rule34 in the Kaidan thread, and some from the Garrus thread as well.  I don't read the other threads though, so I can't comment for sure though.  Again though, it goes back to the number of people.  I don't think the fans here are any different than any other, there's just more.  If the Liara thread has a rule34 posting once a month, we would get 7 or 8 with the same ratio of people posting it.  Its not a fair comparison.

And to defend the thread, I hadn't seen anything about rule34 here in weeks until today.  I was on for at least part of the discussion, and it didn't seem like anything to me, no pictures or anything.  It also started because of a troll picture posted in another thread.  So someone here didn't even start it.

Is exactly my point. It's demeaning to the character and yes, makes the fandom look bad. The former is more important however. It's just about the same people over and over again.

Spending time on the chans will prepare you for anything.  If there is a cesspool in the internet, where the worst of the discarded lay, that would be it.

I'd argue with it making the fanbase look bad.  Its unavoidable.  There literally is porn of everything on the internet.  You can't change that.  There is just as much porn out there for the other characters.  Why should we be held to a higher standard?
