I've been to the Kaidan thread plenty of times, and it never almost never gets to rule34. Compare that with this thread, when it is a daily occurence. The more risque pictures in the Kaidan thread are shared with other members through PM, and not directly posted into the thraed.

I've been there too and at most it's only referenced to when in horror of how bad it is.

Again though, it goes back to the number of people.  I don't think the fans here are any different than any other, there's just more.  If the Liara thread has a rule34 posting once a month, we would get 7 or 8 with the same ratio of people posting it.  Its not a fair comparison.

And to defend the thread, I hadn't seen anything about rule34 here in weeks until today.  I was on for at least part of the discussion, and it didn't seem like anything to me, no pictures or anything.  It also started because of a troll picture posted in another thread.  So someone here didn't even start it.

It's not really the number of people. It's the same people doing it over and over again.

We're not held to a higher standard. In fact, I want us to achieve the same standard as the other threads. The other threads are not nearly as bad.

I really think thats the main problem with the whole situation.  I like Tali just as much as everyone else, but a fake picture drawn up by some random person on the internet doesn't bother me in the slightest.  Other people see it though, and it makes them legitimately mad.  I don't know, I've just learned to not let anything bother me. 

Would I prefer to not see it?  Sure, but I'm just as fine with ignoring it.

Is exactly my point. It's demeaning to the character and yes, makes the fandom look bad. The former is more important however. It's just about the same people over and over again.

Well if they are regualars at it, can't you just report them everytime they do it and they will be banned eventually?

Reporting them doesn't seem to have worked. I'm hoping that if we push for an ignore feature we will get one.

No, there is more porn of the other characters.

Lots more, waaay more.

Reason being is because unlike with other characters who are seen as sexual objects, even the sick bastards over on /b/ just like Tali.

I can't ignore it as much as I'd like. However much I'd like my brain to automatically filter it out, I automatically read these things and see these things simply for being human and having a functional mind. It's distressing because it can take over the conversation and degrades it into stupid sexual talk.

Everything goes back to the number of people.  If one out of every 1000 people is a person who likes to constantly post rule 34 stuff, Tali has 5,000 fans, and Kaidan has 500.  I still vehemently believe that there is no difference between the character fans.  Its all numbers in my mind.

There's a huge difference between saying that Tali has a nice booty (which she does) and then posting rule34. We are not cavemen, we can find these things on the internet if we really want to, it does not belong here.

It's not the fans, it's this thread. Like I said, it's basically the same people over and over again, and the conversation begins to degrade into rule34 discussion. I dunno, I guess it's worthless to talk about. These people aren't going to suddenly change, they like annoying people.
