I see a situation similar to ME1.  Everyone starts out more or less liking you, and they continue to like you without much interaction.  You can purposely turn them on you, but you have to do it on purpose really.

thats what I meant having romanced her already gives her the highest loyalty possibe but this all speculation but I would like to see it happen

Well yeah, your LI would obviously be very loyal, but what about Thane to pick a random person?  If you helped him out with his problem in ME2, how can they explain him randomly not being loyal anymore?  Especially if there is very little time between ME2-3.

Unless you mean some kind of like 1-100 scale.  With say Thane in this situation starting at ~65, and Tali at 100.  I'm not really sure how that would play into ME3 though.  Unless the ending is going to be similar to ME2 with individual loyalty being a huge factor.

True. I prefer not having a romance in ME1 because I like the idea of both Shepard and Tali having feelings for each other and trying to sort them out without the other knowing.

Think of it as a two-sided Oblivious To Love.

I agree, I've explored how a Tali romance arc would work for ME1, and came to the conclusion that it could have worked, but they would have had to put more than 5 minutes of effort into it, so it wouldn't fit in with the others.  You could become closer friends with Tali, eventually starting a romantic relationship.  I don't see her having strong enough feelings, or the time to be ready for sex before Ilos, so maybe a first date/dinner type thing instead.

Then as the relationship starts to grow, the collectors come by for their massive c*ck block party. <_<

Something along those lines could've worked.

That would have been nice, but I prefer how things worked out. An extreme experience has a tendency to rearrange a person's priorities. Death is one of those things, in Shepard's case.

Also, the Collectors and their massive c*ck block party is awesome.

Yeah, I've got no problem with how things turned out. 

To me, it comes down to whats easier though; explaining how neither Shep or Tali let their feelings be known during ME1, or having the start to their relationship during ME1.  Obviously Bioware went with the former, and I hope they do explain it at a later date, although I doubt they will.  Since the reason is mainly that Bioware didn't make her a romance option, regardless of what spin we put on it.

As I'm sure you figured out, it's her "choose me or her" dialog

Tali "I've been thinking about the last time we talked. And I do trust you, I hope you know that. This means something to me; it means a lot. But I don't want... to share you"

Shep "You don't need to share me. I'm not interested in anyone except you, Tali." (Voice acting quality is up there with his "captain's orders" line)

Tali: "Oh... well... then I'll take to you later, once you've made that clear to Miranda" 

Tali turns her head and looks at you as she walks away.

Truth. An in-character reason for this would be ideal, even for a Romance Pack. We need a better excuse than game limitations.

Hmm, engineer is my favorite class, and I've never thought of a name...

When in doubt though, I always go back to Vercingetorix.  Its a kick ass name for anything
