That is one of the reasons I kinda like ME1 Tali more, she is still fun-loving in ME2, but now she has seen some bad stuff, so she has become more serious.
Well, I think it's also the situation.
Most of the time we interact with her, she's got something going on. On Freedom's Progress she was on a mission, then on Haestrom she just watched many friends die, on the Normandy she was in an environment she could never really fully trust, knowing Cerberus had bugs everywhere. Then her trial was just all kinds of sad.
All of this with a looming suicidal mission over her head.
Since the second part in 3-part story structures are generally the more darker ones, I suspect in ME3--as the team works towards resolving the issues at hand--we'll get to see a bit more of that somewhat innocent, fun-loving Tali from ME1.
