Just the use of the word girlfriend...I dunno it dosnt feel right for someone like Tali, like she deserves a better word then that, but I'm drawing a blank as to what word I would want to use.

Mate? Well, quarians don't likely have the same social standards as humans. And every other alien refers to their "breeding partners" as mates.

lol I know, I joke because of sergio's wording.  But I'm still confused how saliva or sweat could taste sweet..

Actually they wouldn't. Saliva and sweat don't have proteins. Or do they? I need to brush up on my biology...

Well it's not just about whether something has protein or not. A sugar for example, isn't a protein. But it is a carbon-based molecule, which usually happen to be dextro chirality.

As for what specifically of hers happens to taste sweet, I really don't know. When I mentioned that theory, I kinda hoped no one looked too far into it.

LOL you know what, simply because I called you out on that, I'm gunna make an snazzy Tali avatar with a tophat Image IPB

Girlfriend does seem a bit odd of a word for Shepard to use... I'm having trouble thinking of a way for Shepard to mention them being together with another word/s myself.

Tali will be a squad member in ME3.

You don't need to worry or think about it, I've already done that. It's safe to just blindly listen to me and accept it.

I'd like to blindly listen, I really would.

But I just can't stop worrying over the fact.

Perhaps some facts would reassure you.  Such as there being no possible way to write her off the Normandy, the cost for making a replacement character being more than keeping Tali, or the fact that they aren't going to be developing new characters in ME3.

There is no possible way that Tali is not a squad mate in ME3 :wizard:

I can't see Tali not being a squaddie in ME3. She's been with Shepard all the time, it just wouldn't make sense.

Besides, Shepard and Tali are together now. I've thought she wouldn't dare leave his side for any reason.

And she also has no where else to go if she gets exiled. WHICH I WOULD NEVER LET HAPPEN. /trying to avoid getting flamed.

Maybe, maybe not. But what's 100% true,  is that if Tali gets a reduced role, every LI gets it(same reason why Thane wont die).

What I also think is that Bioware already knew, before ME2 was released, what's going to happen with the squadmates in ME3.

I know the term "Girflriend" may have a connection in one's mind to something juvenile; afterall, we usually hear that kind of word a lot in HS and whatnot.

But is is a legitimate term for a significant other, and can be used at any age or social group, really.

I'm starting to think there isnt a word in the english language, perhaps in the Quarian Language instead?

Pretty much this, I know that Tali is Shepards girlfriend, but for as close as they are, girlfriend dosn't cut it, there needs to be something more intimate, but not lover or mate, christ now im gonna be up all night thinking of this.

Yeah Ive been reading Reunion, I love it, my ONE complaint...why does shepard use the word "girlfriend"...that just made me facepalm so hard when I saw that...other then that I've been eagerly awaiting the next chapter

Because she's... his girlfriend? Why wouldn't that term be applicable?

Anyway, chapter 6 is up already.

I wonder if Shepard is a traditionalist or not. Paragon Shepard probably wouldn't call her "my" anything...if someone asked he'd be like "Tali and me are together" or "We're together". Renegade won't say anything...just headbutt them or give them a look like "don't go there I'll bite your face off".

Girlfriend works for me.  Its a simple explanation of the relationship, and Tali would probably think of it being cute, since its probably a human colloquialism that quarians don't use.  Like Tali calling you some cute quarian word

*snip*

its far more likly that she would be a NPC..

she is one of the easier to get killed

people think you will need her in your party for peace talks with the geth.... she can talk just fine as a NPC

peope think she is now tied to the normandy... right the same way she was tied to rayya for all of ME2... did not stop her from leaving it

and what it really comes down to is money.. would bioware really use money on a character that was easy to kill in there last game....

there is the argument that they will lose money if she is not in ME3.... this may be true.. theycould just give her a role like wrex...

You assume a role like wrex is cheap?  They still need to bring back Liz Sroka, they still need to develop a story that makes some sense as to why she isn't on the Normandy (seriously, try this one, I can't think of any possible reason.)  Than you need to develop a new character to replace her on the team.  That's a ton more work/money than bringing back Tali, and removing her in games that had her died.

She left the Neema, not the Rayya, largely because of Shepard.  She trusts him completely.  Add in that she can be in a relationship with him, and possibly exiled from the flotilla.  There's no way she leaves the Normandy.

You have more than enough squad mates in ME3.  Just removing the content of dead characters is easy enough.

Your underrating the fan response as well.  ME3 needs to bring back all of the characters as squad mates again, otherwise ME3 will lack the same amount of character development.  It will wreck any chance that ME3 has of surpassing 2.

wrex's role is way cheaper then talis role in ME2!!

in ME2.. she left her ship to go be with shepard, showing... that there may be a bond with the ship name .. but its not going to stop her from going some where else... like back to the flottila!!

what does she bring to the table... tech skills... got legion.. got kasumi.... and for the most part, tech was not really needed in ME2

people are expecting ME3 to be in a sense two games in one... not going to happen .. bioware will take short cuts and hand out NPC roles to characters

if it was not for the fanbase she would have most likely been a NPC in ME2

There are always a way to write a character out.  Like Liara, for example.  I bet Liara fans felt very cheated in ME2.

I won't be certain until I hear it from BioWare themselves.  I don't like to be this way...but it's how I am.

Just because it isn't sweet, doesn't mean I wouldn't do it, and doesn't mean I still can't lick her.

Not having Tali would be like not having Garrus.

The first two original team members not being in the 3rd game would be blastphemey. Bioware isn't stupid, they listen to their fans. I just hope the story will have a nice ending. After all the **** they've been through, they deserve a good ending.
